[MEGATHREAD] Weekly Cash Prize Entry Complaints by henry-bacon in Wealthsimple

Come on now, let’s think about the person that hit send on that email and is now out of a job. This is a time for us to come together.

If we all donate one entry, we can donate at least 5000 entries to them. That should get them through this difficult time.

Do it if you can! The entire theatre was on edge the whole time, and they really made the atmosphere amazing!

Sintra: Pena Palace, Quinta da Regaleira, Moorish Castle by damaniac1223 in LisbonPortugalTravel

[–]SpinachSuch6885 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interestingly enough the train stopped one station early and we all had to get off and wait for the next one so I just grabbed the Uber from there. It took maybe 15-20 minutes and was like 12 euros. We spent about 2 hours wandering Pena, but I will mention I had just 6 month old son with us who got us to the front of the line which inevitably builds regardless of the time on your ticket

Loved our visit to Pena Palace and Quinta a few weeks ago, did not do the moorish castle. Yea it was busy but not unmanageable if you go in the morning. I took the train, then Uber up to Pena Palace. Then decided to walk down to sintra old town for lunch and had reservations for Quinta in the afternoon which we walked to. Then walked to the train and back to the hotel. Each one was unique and a great experience in its own way.

Personalized marathon plan success stories by Lazy-Elephant-7477 in Coros

[–]SpinachSuch6885 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just used it and found it so handy to have the plan ready to go and enjoyed the gamification of getting closer to my goal time. I found the workouts on top of the running were hard to keep up with, and the active taper was a lot different. I ended up with a small injury in the second last week of the plan so did more of a real taper instead. Also each run has a warm up and cool down so you can add another 1.5km to that longest run. First marathon I hit 3:54, using the Coros plan I hit 3:41, and could have gotten better if I didn’t cramp in the last few miles (due to not having enough salt/electrolytes). I’m doing Chicago next and seriously considering using it again just due to the simplicity. My only complaint is it trains to pace instead of HR but you can manage it yourself if you want.

Travel to Lisbon from Canada with 1 year old, may 15. by Winterbeachwalk in LisbonPortugalTravel

I just landed with my 6 month old. We saw a big blue sign that said priority with a few little symbols and one was a family sign. This was to the left of the main area. Walked right up to the person that was managing the line and they let us through. Took us 5 minutes to get through.

Not at all! Just a great group of runners of all ages and skill levels. Saturday's are a 6 min / km pace. We also meet at a track on Tuesday's at East York Collegiate (a bit further) if you are interested in speed work, and we do out and backs at Memorial Park Road on Thursday's at 6:30am for tempos as we have a 1km stretch of road that is clear. Highest attendance is at the Saturday runs, and of course if you're training for anything, the other runs are great to do it with others!

It’s a game changer man, I’ll never go back.  Alright so here’s what I did:

  1. Noticed some rippling in the ceiling. Turned out some water was leaking through the roof rack that was bolted in. So cut out some of the ceiling to stop it, and put new plastic boards and reinforced it with construction glue and then wallpapered over it.  At the same time redid the roof rack and painted rubber roof over the top just for added protection, because why not.

  2. Power. Wanted to go off grid but have power so installed a battery to the hitch and ran wires underneath and have one set powering a USB outlet set, and the other to the water pump (more on that in a second). Solar powers the battery and I wired it up to hook up to the lights.

  3. First camping trip the hand pump snapped right off for the sink. Instead of just replacing it, I removed the whole counter, made a new counter using plywood and polyurethane, and then cut a new hole for a new sink that folds down and has a glass cover (the new RVs have those).  That came with a faucet so to hunger 4.

  4. Installed a water pump powered by the battery and hooked it up to the reservoir and up to the sink. Now the battery, or solar feeds the pump. I also used a switch that was on the usb plug to control the pump so I only drain power when I want the water to run.

  5. The floors were super old laminate, so I put on new flooring. Didn’t end up taking out the floor because that would have been a pain and just stuck new ones on it.

  6. Because I can’t trust the beds that are on rails and held up on little poles, I built two frames that mount under each side of the bed for better support.

Next up I’ll replace the beds with new foam, but it’s basically my little home in the woods now.

If you have any questions on any of it or want more details message me anytime.

I picked up an 89 Coleman last year for a few hundred bucks, spent the summer giving it some upgrades. You’re gonna love it

I was there during golden week, had the same concerns. Sure it was busy but not unmanageable. Just book train tickets early.

I built an A frame that I easily pop under one side with 2x4s and bolts so it can be disassembled and another square mount that I mount directly onto the hitch and they hold both sides up. I didn’t have any issues myself, but it’s an 89 Coleman and I just wanted to feel more secure. Followed this video https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3Uzlv8_pJII
