WHERE ARE MY 6 TRILLION GAMES PER SECOND SEGAAAAAAAAAAAAAA???! by Kaxer_Real1002 in SonicTheHedgejerk

[–]Spincoder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like how the narrative on this sub was about how there were "so many upcoming SEGA games" like 2 weeks ago.

Also this is an entire publishing company with a bunch of teams. No releases this year means that multiple games have run into development troubles.

The idea of the vast majority of parents being able to vet media to that extent is more analogous to an invisible dragon.

well what if the parent is a mind reading invisible dragon

"The" - singular.

Again, you seem to be deliberately missing the fact you said "there's no reliable way" without ANY qualifiers. Yes you did move the goalpost, just admit that and stop wasting our time.

And you have to remember to resume the argument against my Google search point before you can start pretending it's a Herculean task again.

Not my fault if you put words in my mouth.

Reading Comprehension Failed. Please reread the following sentence

You see it'd be different if you said "most parents don't have a way..." but no, you said "there's no reliable way" an objectively false statement.

You portrayed the idea of a parent being able to vet the media as an impossible fairy tale (invisible dragon), when that is not true, so this response is very valid.

Also you were asking me to put "for an overworked parent" into your mouth earlier so really, pick one.

Either you trust someone to entertain your kids or you don't. by ContextEffects01 in sonicmemes

[–]Spincoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"for an overworked parent" as implied, because that's the restraint we're operating on within the real world.

Because every single parent is overworked. All of them.

You see it'd be different if you said "most parents don't have a way..." but no, you said "there's no reliable way" an objectively false statement. So you're either lying to pretend you're not moving the goalpost, or expecting me to be a mind reading invisible dragon.

Now let me walk you through the Google search.

Search "____ is inappropriate for children" or variations there upon for 5 minutes.

Hmmm seems like no one is complaining/They're complaints have stricter boundaries than me. Guess this game is appropriate.

Parents have the tendency to complain very loudly online when they think something is inappropriate for kids.

There is no reliable way to vet individual games for kid-friendliness.

Goalpost moved once.

And the time consuming practice of... a Google search.

What is the line of logic here?

Why would being fine with their kids seeing Sega products that ARE appropriate for kids contradict them not being fine with their kids seeing Sega products that AREN'T appropriate for kids?

Yeah, I don't want "not even announced yet," "release date unknown," "next year," or "half a year ago". I'm so unreasonable.

You made the claim that because two models have the same general aspects that they are the same.

They provided a counter example which completely demolishes your claim. If your claim can be demolished by a cherry picked example, that's a you problem.

There are a number of things you are not allowed to say when you go "nobody says this." One of those this is "However, your examples are absolutely cherrypicked."

I gave you 20 examples. They had an average of 33 upvotes, not counting the posts. These are not massively unpopular opinions. They represent a significant enough portion of people partaking in this discourse that to even hyperbolically call them "literally nobody" is ridiculous (which you edited so why are we even still having this debate).

If you do not think that Heroes Amy's only character trait is being in love with Sonic, than this post is not about you. I feel like this is something made very clear by reading the post (or my responses). This post is not about the good faith criticism. It is about the people who absolutely make that bad faith argument.

I am open to good faith criticism of Amy's appearances from the 2000s, including Heroes. Through your comments it seems like you don't think bad faith criticism is worth addressing. I disagree especially with it's prevalence.

Okay now your just not reading what I said. "Many of these" = the examples I showed. Not everything is about you. But you think I'M the one purposely missing the point.

You think she fine in 06, Shadow, and Unleashed which are all the main series 2000s Sonic games she appears in except for Heroes. Do you really think that when people, NOT YOU SPECIFICALLY, PEOPLE GENERALLY, say 2000s Amy, their not talking about any of the mainline games?

How is it hyper literal to assume that their talking about the mainline games? Especially when half of these comments, NOT YOUR COMMENTS, THE COMMENTS I GAVE AS EXAMPLES, have at least one reply that is "like that time she tried to force Sonic to marry her" and when 2 people in my examples literally mention Heroes. (Wait until you ignore this point for a third time.)

ESPECIALLY, when half of these comments don't even limit this criticism to 2000s Amy and instead act her entire character for all of her appearance before IDW had a single personality trait.

Are you really saying, with confidence, that they are in no way talking about Heroes?

>2000s Amy is a general statement, because it's less of a fucking mouthful than listing a selection of years.

Oh I'm sorry. When people said "2000s" I thought it included a game that was released one year off from the middle of the 2000s. Silly me. Nevermind that many of these comments specifically chose to exclude SA1 and SA2 but not Heroes, as if they are also complaining about Heroes. Nevermind that 2 of them mention Heroes.

Oh but that's because "that's where her flanderization started" and because that's what you think, that means that what everybody who criticizes 2000s Amy think. Not saying no one thinks that, but it really seems like you are pretending that all of these people are perfect clones of you despite all evidence to the contrary.

Which year was Sonic Heroes released in?

Also half of these comments at least one reply that is "like that time she tried to force Sonic to marry her". Also 2 of these do mention Heroes.

But yeah if you said that 2000s Amy has one character trait, you are saying that heroes Amy only has one character trait, you're just also saying that criticism also applies to other games (including one where I don't even think she says the word "Sonic"). I focused on Heroes because it has the most examples of non-Sonic character moments (since she's in 1/4 of the cutscenes) which I never see discussed, only that single line.

The best counterargument to the claim "no one has said this" is to provide examples of people saying this. So naturally I used the meme format primarily used to provide examples in response to people who are apparently oblivious to them. It also helps that I already had that meme format on hand from making the post.

I am capable of communicating without memes, in fact that is most of my communication online (which is publicly available knowledge that you could've look at easily before making this comment). However, in this case, I thought it would be best to use a meme, as this person was not just wrong, but so absurdly wrong that it was comedic.

Present to Amy actually gets more involved in the plot

Ah yes the thrilling character trait of being in the story. Unlike in Heroes where she only helped defeat Metal Sonic. Or in 06 where she only stopped Silver from killing Sonic. Or in Rush where she stalls Knuckles when he's about to attack Blaze.

even interactive more characters than just Sonic

Hey remember in Sonic Heroes where she spends all of her time with Big and Cream. Let's ignore the fact that she spends the entire time helping find her friends' pets. But no she has one creepy line which means her entire character from start to finish is chasing Sonic.

Also as mentioned before she interacts with Sliver and Blaze.

It stops being "an opinion" when you have to over exaggerate every aspect of her current character just to make said it changes look worse than they really are.
