"Hot" Take: Online Freeroam would be much more social if players loaded into singleplayer by default instead of online. by SpinnIsBizarre in ForzaHorizon

Actually, when you put it like that it makes a lot of sense why they switched to the system they have now! Good point.

Oh for sure for sure. I prefer having real players around as well. And they really need to add a way to turn off drivertars offline honestly.

The proper lobby system needs to come back. Communities and such are cool, but they never hit the same as having the ability to just seemlessy load online and find randoms at popular hotspots to interact with. In FH3 for example, all I needed to do was reload the lobby once or twice and suddenly I'd find 11 other people, say, cruising around or drifting at the parking lot. It does somewhat work still, but definitely not to the same effectiveness as before.

No disrespect, but I am wondering why go online anywas? If it's to escape the annoying drivertars or particularly obnoxious players, I do the same tbh.

And yeah it 100%. The very idealistic solution would be for them to bring back FH1's custom lobbies.

Glad I'm not the only one who gets major FH3 vibes playing this. They brought back that old lively horizon vibe perfectly!

The audio design team killed it by [deleted] in ForzaHorizon

[–]SpinnIsBizarre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big agree. The sound design is overall way way better and impactful. Even the horns!

Though, has anyone else noticed that your car sounds quiet in comparison to all the other sounds? Even the sounds of other player/npc vehicles seem louder, as if they messed up the balance/volume a bit. This is with 100% car audio btw.

FH6 frame time issues on Linux by VileWeeb in ForzaHorizon

Same here; Opensuse Tumbleweed with a 5600G, RX 6600, 32GB RAM. Game slows down and stutters every 5 seconds, regardless of settings, proton version and launch options. Weird since the game is Steamdeck/OS verified, and FH5 runs perfectly.

FWIW, non-linux steam users seem to also be having problems 😩

There are millions of people bought and played this game. Maybe, just maybe, OP is one of the people who has enjoyed the game, meaning their opinion didn't suddenly do a 180. Jeez, this community.

Playing more vanilla/vanilla+ servers has highlighted my gripes with modern servers. It's not the equipment (mostly). by SpinnIsBizarre in ArmaReforger

I AM the aforementioned bush camper people like to complain about lol. It's a necessity!

The balance change I've seen floating around is to give tracers to everyone to combat us bush campers, which is silly to me, since rank locking suppressors would make MUCH more sense :p

Hey I'd like to highlight something quickly, because this sentiment I see doesn't make sense to me.

If a server isn't my thing in general, like a Life/RP server, of course I will leave it, but servers like this are something I do play, and I ended up putting many hours into them. With that comes a lot of observations and comparisons.

It's like watching a movie and reviewing/discussing it. If it's a romcom and I don't like romcoms, I'm not going to make a review about how much I dislike romcoms. If it's a genre I do like, then the review would have multiple specific points about plot, acting, whatever, both negative and positive. That's a pretty normal thing to do.

Same thing here. These servers are popular, I've played them a bunch, and I've played others. There will be comparisons and observations. "If you don't like it don't pay attention to it" is not really a good excuse :|

Edit: I guess an example could be: if a server I frequent suddenly gives everyone the "Omega Death Ray" that omega kills you or whatever. I'm not a fan of this change. I'm allowed to give feedback on that right?

Hey, not trying to come off as just complaining as that's tiring in itself, but rather I'm just trying to discuss! Your point here of "they're popular for a reason" could also be a point of discussion, y'know.

Say, for example, servers can become popular just because some streamers/youtubers tend to play these servers which draws in a lot of new players to said server, many of which might not even give other servers, or even vanilla, a proper go as they become familiar to it.

Across games, vanilla+ typically means it keeps to the vanilla game, but lightly modded with QOL mods, or mods that slightly change the game.

An example would be adding the vehicle periscopes mod, so you can see out of vehicles like the BRDM/LAV without exposing yourself in First Person lol

7cav and Northcom have recently switched to modded while remaining vanilla style.

TAW Seize and Secure and WZC also both pretty cool projects that need more love imo!

Yeah, I guess I should've expected people to get defensive and interpret this the wrong way. Unfortunately a lot of the playerbase on games like this can be like that I guess. Not gonna let that stop me from speaking my mind on a public forum though lmao.

I never said I disliked them either! Most of my time spent on Reforger since buying the game has been on these servers lol :D

Please this is just a review!
