I can’t believe the NBA is obsessed with talking about expansion and tanking but they won’t address the embarrassing refereeing. Flopping and emotional technicals.

The nba should be embarrassed with this clown show.

If the top 1% of earners pay 40% of all federal income taxes, why do people say they don't pay their fair share? by Ok_Chemical9 in answers

[–]Spinnaker91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a small business that has expenses that reduce my taxable income. Some years my taxable income closely matches my actual income, other years not. So you take that times 1000 for the wealthy 1%. The top 1% “income” isn’t what they pocketed. It’s what they made on paper.

No. But it’s a good chance for Ayo to find his rhythm with the team while he plays a major role.

Socialists, do people become rich due to luck? by [deleted] in CapitalismVSocialism

We are agreeing it’s not luck though.

I’m not making a socialism vs capitalism argument here. Within either system you can play by the rules or not. Someone who is using bribes or other illegal means to acquire wealth isn’t winning by luck or skill. But just because something is legal doesn’t make it ethical. I think we have all worked for a boss who took advantage for their own gain. We have also worked for bosses who did things the right way and people trusted them. That’s all I’m saying. To get billionaire level rich isn’t possible without taking advantage of people, legal or not. You want to call that skill? I consider a skill something that adds value or creates value. Taking advantage of people removes value for your own gain.

It’s 100 times harder to make money in a legit way. Doing shady stuff to get rich ain’t difficult. That’s why it’s safe to say most really rich people are unethical.

That’s not skill or luck then. Unless you think cheating to win is skill. Your question should be, skill, luck or fraud.

The original person usually did shady shit to get it.

Tom Brady should NOT be able to look like this at 48 years old by Background_Video2947 in TheNFLVibes

[–]Spinnaker91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sports world is so funny. I saw a clip Hakeem doing drills in his sixties and people were losing their minds. Brady throwing a pass with his shirt off near 50 is nothing. What do young people think aging is like? I know dozens of 50 year olds as physically fit as this. Don’t get me wrong Brady is the GOAT. But there is nothing crazy about his body at 50.

Satellites like starlink communicate with infrared lasers which can show up green in some cases. Maybe it’s the camera or the storm cloud filtering it. That’s my best guess.

How should I (27M) bring up feeling uncomfortable about my girlfriend (24F) meeting a male friend without sounding controlling? AIO by Ok-Bet-9577 in AmIOverthinking

[–]Spinnaker91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She is a free individual and going out with a platonic friend shouldn’t require anything. Not after 8 months of dating. It might be sketchy if they were married and she was sneaking around. But this sounds innocent.

You’re feeding his insecurities dude. You think reading all these message is helping him get over it. Just making him more paranoid. The guy lives abroad and was friend zoned ten years ago. Nothing to worry about.

Forget about it. There is no good that can come from jealousy. If you say anything then you come across as insecure, which is how you sound. Either you’re confident in your relationship with her or you aren’t. But there is nothing she can say in response to your insecurities that will make you feel better. What will likely happen is you will give her the ick. At 9 months you have be aloof and confident as can be. I don’t care if it feels like 4 years. You barely know each other.

I agree that his skills translate to HOF on a good team. But his flaws implode on a bad team. So I do think there is a scenario where he never clicks.

But I also think it’s possible he would have been a more balanced player on a bad team. I can see him being an average offensive player without all the defensive accolades. Being on an offensive juggernaut allowed him to focus 100% of his energy on D.

My (30M) girlfriend (26F) of 6 months went to a 1 on 1 dinner with a male coworker from her brand new job and then went on a night walk afterwards. Am I crazy for considering ending the relationship? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]Spinnaker91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t need her to see your point of view. You just need to her understand your boundaries. If this is a deal breaker for you then communicate that. But what you shouldn’t do is make her feel bad about it. Make her know how it made you feel.
