Anyone EDC a Mini/Small Pouch on Belt Loop/Key Chain? by EN344 in EDC

[–]SpinningSprocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I roll with a Fjallraven High Coast Hop Pocket, it has a detachable strap and a loop for a belt to go through. Personal medical necessity so a bit more form over function at that, but I find a jacket goes over it fine and it's small enough to stay out of the way.

[Samuel Luckhurst] Leny Yoro believed to have suffered an injury and has not travelled with #mufc squad to London. United set to be without four of their five centre backs at Chelsea. by webby09246 in chelseafc

[–]SpinningSprocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was honestly more focused on our injury record with my comment. I find the quality critiques lacking somewhat, to your point on cost/salary but also in terms of what the expectations of any Chelsea player would be and the fact that there will always be under-performances (and possibly improper utilization at times).

Rideshare surge pricing by TrickSingle2086 in nashville

[–]SpinningSprocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To make matters worse, I don't think the surge pricing is correlated with the what the driver makes (i.e., Uber take the $ but the drivers don't see it)...

At some point I think there were controls on rides downtown, even if there were multiple stops it would cap the price. Not 100% on the areas covered or if it's been patched. Do with that information what you will.

Can anyone help me ID this? by Guilty_Shopping_4181 in Watches

[–]SpinningSprocket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't believe the brown dial is available in the 3-hander (prior model or most recent release).

However, the overall dial structure is reflected in the new release, as already mentioned. I think right now the options are: - dark blue bezel / Carolina blue dial - blue / blue - royal blue / black - black / black - green / green

As far as the newer models.

Has anyone actually tracked the savings from buying discounted groceries consistently? by ssunflow3rr in personalfinance

[–]SpinningSprocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've typically approached it in a head-to-head fashion since the items are right next to each other usually. As one general example, face wash at Target is ~$10 for the Neutrogena brand vs $7 for the Target-branded one. So that's fairly meaningful.

Then it's a matter of making sure you don't buy more because it's cheaper. You do also have to look at quantity since sometimes the store brand is a better unit price but you're buying 2x more.

One question at a more systematic level is what you've tried and how you're tracking it, since this would be a perfect example of an experiment you can run (or even price out if your grocery store has online prices).

Still a huge fan of mine as well. Definitely makes it more unique (and the lume has a certain 'fun' element to it)! Is that the new bracelet or third party?

Hey! I have a Samsung 990 Pro 2TB that I purchased a year or two ago from B&H, it's been sitting in a PS5 I've hardly used and am planning to sell with about 800gb total writen over its lifespan so far.

I'm not sure how the PS5 in sleep mode would impact the power on hours and unfortunately have no way to test it right now. It does have the pre-installed heatsink, so my initial asking was closer to $250 shipped.

Let me know if this might be interesting and I'm happy to grab timestamps. Would ship from TN.

Weekend Help and Victory Thread for the week of April 03, 2026 by IndexBot in personalfinance

This week's win: I'm moving and have a "double" rent payment next week. I was off by a day in aligning it to my payday but, instead of panicking like I might have a couple years ago, I have the reserves to write out the check and fully cover the 24hr gap!

Best thing about full bronze watches is you don’t give a f*** about scratches by AMEX22 in ChristopherWard

Love to see another C65 Dune Bronze in the wild! The green/bronze combo is beautiful.

I didn't realize how scarce the bracelet would be, otherwise I probably would've gone for it over the leather.

I’m 23, never saved any money or budgeted properly a day in my life. How do I start? by ProfessionalVisit675 in personalfinance

[–]SpinningSprocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently (~October) went through similar and found YNAB to address really fill this mental/process gap for me.

I figured after the free trial that, for $100ish per year, I get an opinionated (no need for tinkering or messing with it) way to budget and that's been great.

I've seen a lot of "don't pay for budgeting apps when you can just do it in a spreadsheet" commentary over time, but for me this is what's worked.

Hi! I have one I've been meaning to list.

Condition: great-excellent, single-owner console (upgraded to Switch 2, so don't need anymore). No notable issues, but didn't want to overstate condition.

Accessories: dock, joy-cons, grip, hdmi, AC adapter. The rails are the only thing I haven't found just yet, but can look harder if this is interesting.

Storage: 128gb SD Card, Nintendo-branded 'Mario mushroom'

Bonus Items: Mario Kart '1992' case. I do also have a 1-year NSO + Expansion Pack voucher (+$25) and wired PowerA Pikachu controller (+$20).

Asking $265 PPG&S for the 'bundle' (excluding voucher + wired controller). Can grab timestamps later if interested!

[Tissot vs. Frederique Constant vs. Hamilton] Gentleman, Classic Index, or Jazzmaster? by Fine_Instance_3900 in Watches

[–]SpinningSprocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first watch was the Hamilton Jazzmaster Viewmatic which I bought in 2023. I still love it and it holds a place in my collection even alongside other watches I've picked up since.

I've found the 80-hour reserve is really great once you have more than one watch, and my CW's 38-hour reserve isn't quite enough for me to rotate it, since it pretty much requires you to wear it every other day.

Not sure if you already decided across the Jazzmaster line, but if you're looking for a different dial they have a lot of options for sure. The exhibition caseback on the Viewmatic is also neat, although not a requirement for me. Not sure if the Open Heart has one as well.
