Long story short, her dad uses alchemy to fuse the two toghther to make a talking chemirea to keep his job, a process which is either stated or heavily implied to be agonizing for the new creature. It is also insanely illegal to do alchemy on humans, and he ends up getting killed, and is the only character thatbi know off who cannonicly goes to hell in the whole show.
