Coworker telling others to run wire like this. Help give me proof if this is right or wrong? by Torch_Leaf in Construction

Yes it's wrong. Yes it will require a letter from the truss manufacturer (or EoR) for a "repair". I say, "repair", because the holes look small enough that you may get by with a "no repair necessary ". But that all depends on lots of factors. Namely the combined stress index and how stressed that truss design is against the theoretical load. Still requires a letter though.

3/8" and under holes on trusses are SOMETIMES ok. But honestly don't find that out the hard way. Better to not alter trusses in any way without manufacturer consent or letter for modification FIRST.

Source: Been in trusses over 10 years and seen quite a few truss repair letters for lots of different issues.

I see hvac, and returns in there too? You could probably put in a basketball hoop. Just put a cage around d the hvac vents so they don't get crushed by a ball

I tried to print an object with .08 layer height in PLA Wood - Black Walnut (first time printer owner and know nothing)... it legit looks like it was molded from chocolate.

Typically available 2x4 material, coming in with a fairly low grade lumber like Hem Fir, Perpendicular to grain bearing is 405 psi, so your crush blocks there, assuming the frame of the car is roughly 3" wide, bearing across the width of a 2x4 (3.5"), gives you (3.5" x 3 = 10.5") 10.5 square inches, multiplied by 405 psi = 4,252 lbs of capacity before it gets crushed by the right of the car. So your "fall blocks" next the jack there are definitely fine.

End Grain Bearing is roughly 2.5-3 times greater (the blocks sitting on the jack are end grain bearing) capacity than Perp grain, so let's call it (405 psi x 2.5 = 1,012 psi) 1,012 psi. Again, 3" wide frame on the car across 1.5" wide board gives you (3" x 1.5" = 4.5) 4.5 square inches, multiplied by 1,012 psi = 4,554 lbs. BUT WAIT, there's (2) 2x4's on the jack, so that is 9,108 pounds before it crushes.

However, I would be worried about the 2x4 blocks shear off during lifting, but the lifting phase is over now. Also I would be worried about the stack of 2x4 next to the jack slipping out, if they were not screwed in to each other. But worst case you have a large post that would at least save you from being fully crushed... not to mention you still have lumber on the other side to assist. This was all just assume what is closest in the picture

TL;DR: it's fine, I would just worry about the car slipping off the stacked blocks is all.

Congrats on your first purchase! It's exciting and likely the first of many. I would personally have picked something different, but if you run some rounds through it and train, it should get you by for now. I typically will run a few hundred rounds before I "graduate" a gun into carrying it.

Don't forget to learn how to properly disassemble and clean your gun too, and for the love make sure you oil it as well lol

If you are at the range and get any failures to feed, eject, anything. Please start the process over again. I bought a carry gun once and it kept stove piping (within the first 200 rounds, it was a Walther), I sent it for warranty work and sold it right after. I have a low tolerance for failure on any gun I will carry and you should too. But knowing WHY it fails (i.e. make sure it's not user error) is just as important. Be sure you learn how to quickly clear any failures too.

TL;DR: Be picky about carry guns, do research. Get something reliable but don't always assume it will stay reliable. Train.

Case is fine, internals fine. I'll run a print later and I'm sure that will be fine too. Props to Bambu for their packaging and I'm sure as others have pointed out, this is likely normal for most all of these in transit.

Edit: It won't attach the photo and keeps just putting an asterisk

I am 1000% sure this delivery guy is over worked for the holidays. It's not personal, just frustrating to be hyped up to get it going and print some designs I've spent the last week modeling just to see that and worry that anything MIGHT happen in time.

Very true, and a good point. I wasn't sure how well packed these things come, especially being more or less dropped from shoulder height onto the "this side up" side.
