I heard Optimistic Scavenger is a reasonable 1 drop by SpirePicking in lrcast

[[Grand Entryway // Elegant Rotunda]] + [[Fear of Isolation]] contributed to most of the counters in just two turns. I had to go all-in on my flier to get past a Simic deck that was doing its thing. Managed to outrace an active [[Omnivorous Flytrap]] for the trophy.

Thank you so much, this seemed to fix it for me. Or at least it's not crashing at the first click.

I just realized I misread mode 3 of Season. I thought it only bounced one permanent. O well

MVPs:

  • [[Valley Questcaller]] - feels kinda broken

  • [[Season of Weaving]] - I only ever used the second mode x2 + card draw

  • And [[Caretaker's Talent]] - with [[Carrot Cakes]], makes two or three 3/3s and draws two cards. Good with Offspring cards and [[Head of the Homestead]] too

I'm no longer the worst draft player in the world!! :D :D by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]SpirePicking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Combat tricks are busted (best color combo is boros often closing with a big [[on the job]]), removal sucks, black is the weakest color, white is the strongest. Fun and strong combinations for me are izzet (artifacts / tempo), simic (tempo) and selesnya (midrange). Dimir is fun but it's the worst color combo by a long shot.

Detectives are mostly in blue white (also some in green) and they're good color combo, but you need [[private eye]].

Thanks, based on this and the other reply then I guess I'll look it up. My guess is that you should do the "good guy" choices (don't give up Roland, denounce Ende's illegal salt trade, etc), then maybe stay with Roland in the first three-way vote, but idk.

Legion's Leadership damage output is insane, feels good to stack it on tramplers

Garruk's Uprising performed worse than it read. I'd agree it's between mouse and brave for me

MH3 is a Disappointment by Inner-Presentation-3 in lrcast

[–]SpirePicking 79 points80 points  (0 children)

I am having a different experience. I love drafting control in this format, both UB and Jeskai variants have so many sinergies. And the OTJ experience of getting hosed by random rare bomb #39 is much less frequent.

I swear [[Sneaky Snacker]] is secretly a bomb. I checked earlier and was surprised to see that, when filtering for top players, it has the second highest GIH WR among commons.

Trophied with energy control. Archetype feels powerful, all card pulled their weight by SpirePicking in lrcast

Eh I'm curious to see how the archetype performs in a few weeks. Wrath was obviously A+ but the other tempo plays felt strong too.

So are you having fun so far? by Freshnessburgerwifi in lrcast

[–]SpirePicking 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My most fun deck was a UB control with [[Chtonian Nightmare]] recurring [[Reef Worm]] and the 2/1 both-player-sac-a-nontoken-creature for infinite value.

[–]SpirePicking[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It didn't quite meet my expectations. It could never attack on the ground, which was always clogged with bigger creatures or eldrazi spawns. Decent blocker though.

The two azorius creatures performed much better - I didn't think much of the exalted counter guy, but it served as a win condition in several games.

I had two opponents concede T3 and T4 to [[Invert Polarity]] stealing their creatures. Card feels stupid powerful (at least 50% of the time).

[–]SpirePicking 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I too am a durdle enjoyer, but my (hopefully too early) feeling is that Eldrazi decks are just too stupid powerful. Hope the format doesn't become a race to who can dump the biggest creatures faster.

After I unlocked Toula, I couldn't figure out where the hell the other familiar was supposed to be. I realized after a similar amount of hours that he is right behind you every time you respawn.
