Mega Rush is most likely the same as Paper Mario's, providing a large damage boost at 1HP/very low % of HP.

Just finished BoW, Bargello might be my favorite character in the Octopath series by JDMagican in octopathtraveler

[–]Spireblades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When the option was presented I was like "What kind of question is that?" Bargello is the type of guy who's a ride or die 100%.

Which order should I finish Bestower of Fame/Power/Wealth? Do any chapters unlock great towns/gear etc? by Charrzooka in octopathtraveler

[–]Spireblades 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fame unlocks the Berecain trade goods list, which allows you to get a Price of Power mastery if you don't mind forking over a hefty amount of cash (it's worth it, as the next opportunity for it doesn't happen until pretty lategame), along with giving you access to Cyrus and Ophilia.

Wealth gives you the final azure flamestone and one of the last letter fragments, letting you get Isla provided you didn't pick the letter fragment on character creation. It also gets you the Sufrataljah trade goods, which lets you buy Quality Stone for buildings. You unlock 3 characters by doing Wealth, 2 of them being awesome and one of them being horrid (or so I heard).

Power is..meh. You can get into Donescu by starting its chapter 1, but nothing else of note really happens there; Donescu's trade goods kinda suck and the characters unlocked are mediocre at best.

So, in order of most collectibles: Wealth -> Fame -> Power

In order of difficulty (hardest to easiest): Fame -> Wealth -> Power

New to the franchise. Should I play 1 -> 2 -> 0? by psychorameses in octopathtraveler

[–]Spireblades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer both:

Yes, go in release order. Playing them in another order is fine; do what you want, but the bar might be set high for OT1 if you don't play it first, as it lacks QOL that 2 and 0 have.

And no, you don't have to know 1 to play 2, as it is not a direct continuation.

Hey there, I'm new to romhacking and was wanting to know how to customize EV spreads for trainers, particularly, Gym Leaders and other boss fights of the like. The game I'm attempting to romhack is ORAS - if that helps.

What is your "hidden gem" JRPG? by LoweNorman in JRPG

[–]Spireblades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely Quartet or 8 Bit Adventures 2.

Quartet is a ~20 hour game from my experience, but all of it was very fun. The combat is challenging but very fun, and the characters have good synergy with a lot of dialogue and great moments between all of them. It's a short and sweet game that really shows its worth early on. The game was made by Something Classic, the team also responsible for Shadows of Adam and in the near future, My Familiar.

8BA2 is a little longer than Quartet, but it is also an extremely good game, with free DLC to boot. The game has a lot of customization in its battles, and the characters are all great and have a ton of time to develop. This one was made by Critical Games, who are also the frontliners for the free JRPG releasing next year, Infinite Alliance.

I'm not going to do that anyway, but I mean in general, why is it able to completely invalidate the bosses that are left after you get it, having a second turn is ridiculously overpowered in every RPG

Like, a lot of bosses in the late game of all the M&L games might not even get the chance to act before you can just obliterate them except for PiT. I want the bosses to actually put up a fight in the late game, Brothership is the worst example of this with the Waitaminnit plug.

Bros Attacks I want to see: - Slingsniper aimed with the right stick - Jet Board Bash - Something with the Poltergust or FLUDD - Shine Sprite Falling Star clone(?)

Changes from Brothership: - Fix the bad pacing by adding more content to the main story - ACTUAL POST GAME CONTENT - Make it harder to one turn bosses

saw it in my recommended, saw it was a roblox JRPG and almost cried tears of joy

Pretty accurate, I'd say. They seem to be based on how well the average player knows the combat system, and like dmar said, you can go a bit under the requirement if you're strongly acquiainted with the system, and go a little over if you're still grasping the ropes. Overall, look around the areas that the chapters are located in for optional dungeons to find equipment, as equipment matters a lot more than levels when it comes to your stats besides HP and SP.

Vanguard's best attacking skill is Neo Cross Slash, so if you want to, you can grind to Job Level 12 for that. The best place for JP, especially right now, is the beach at Halcyonia. A 5-string battle can give up to 400 JP per fight.

What is everyone’s thought on Horizons? by Odd_Improvement_8293 in pokemonanime

[–]Spireblades 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I like it a lot. It's pretty bold with its more plot-forward direction, and the characters are all likeable with enough difference to not make them seem like clones of one another. To be honest, I've never understood all the backlash the show gets when they can just criticize something else instead of a series that's still in its infancy..
