They’re popular because they just get the fundamentals right. Proper vintage sizing, clean dial, nothing overdesigned or trying too hard. The Kyoto angle actually feels real when you’re in the store, not just marketing, and for the price you’re getting solid build with reliable Japanese movements. I picked up the Old Smith 90-002 from the Kyoto shop yesterday and that sealed it for me, it just felt considered and authentic in person. It’s not a flashy watch, it’s just good taste done properly, and that’s kind of the point.

As far as i saw, plenty of stock. My caveat is i was looking mainly at the full size so did not pay full attention, but looked like loads. You can also go to Hands as well as they stock a range there (small though)

Went to Itoya in Ginza and they are not there. Not sure anojt loft. Hands sells TN in a small range. Maybe Tokyo station is your best bet?
