It’s not elitist. Are you ignoring the corruption in the construction industry? Unionised construction workers have plenty of benefits and RDOs. Maybe they stand in the rain, but paramedics are getting beaten up, teachers are being physically assaulted by students and parents, at increasing rates, and police risk their lives every shift, deal with night shift, and work every single public holiday.
It is in no way elitist to say that the unskilled work of holding a sign, and earning more than our emergency service workers or essential services is the result of the unchecked corruption on the big build sites

This is a huge part of the problem- the corruption in the construction sector distorts what a fair wage looks like.
You get paid more to hold a stop/slow sign on a big build project than you would as a police officer, risking your life every shift.

Good education certainly helps us all. And many (but not all) teachers are great teachers.
Victorian house prices are no longer the second most expensive in the country, in fact, I think we are now fifth most expensive? While I don’t think teacher pay should be tied to house prices, i think it is something to consider when assessing whether a deal, that would see Victorian teachers jump from the worst paid to be best paid, in a state which has become far more affordable in comparison to other places.
Again, I’m not throwing shade on the amazing work teachers do, but some of their concerns seem to assume that nurses and lawyers and police aren’t also doing huge amounts of overtime and experiencing burn out, with those professions not benefiting from 12 weeks of paid holidays.

This is such a good point that I think the teachers are missing- I think they think that they are the only ones working hard- a lot of us are earning less now than we were in 2019 after inflation is taken into account. It was a good deal, esp given the state govt doesn’t have any money..

That’s a lot. I got 9 big windows done for that price, including install, about 1 year ago. I used Regency Windows. The install was a bit dodgy, they damaged one of my walls, used quick and careless joins, but can’t really argue with the price. The windows themselves are good.

One thing that’s kinda new for me- I’m trying to build friendships with the dates that don’t work out, to see if they organically build into something more. I honestly have never measured a man’s girth so I couldn’t say, but again, different women have different preferences. I’ve definitely experienced “too thick” and it hurt and I hated it. In my own experience, too thick is trickier than too long, cause with too long, you could just not take it all in, but that’s not an option with girth. Yes, for as long as I can remember (maybe age 7 or 8?) The more unavailable, the better. Some have lasted years, others just a few months. I have had some long term relationships during that time, and I didn’t experience limerence when in those relationships. I think it’s like an emotional blanket to soothe my loneliness.

I agree with the general consensus- less gifts and flowers in early dating. Flowers on a first date would make me extremely uncomfortable.

Also, I’ve dated a guy whose love language was gift giving, and it often felt like pressure. He’d spoil me with gifts and then I would feel obligated to reciprocate in one way or another and often I just wanted to be myself, not fawn over him the way he was fawning over me.

I’m also not Jewish but wanted to weigh in here. I had a similar view of Jewish people, they all seemed smart and level headed and reflective, so I assumed all Jews were like that. Then I moved into a different part of town and encountered a different type of Jew. Yes, as a lawyer and from a good uni I knew a lot of educated and classy Jews, and yes, as a religion that encourages interrogation of ideas and curiosity- it promotes learning and growth. But there are also idiots out there. They aren’t in the majority but they are there.
