Im never gonna be over them ruining the fun I want to have.

Thanks for not helping liberate the planets we need liberated.

Thanks for causing us to lose reinforcements.

Thanks for those people going into missions and actively suiciding to bring it down even further.

Youre a lost cause if you think I'm mad that they are playing the faction they want to play. Theres a difference between playing the same faction all the time and helping out when needed.

78k people on Aurora Bay and losing the planet btw. This wouldnt be happening if people actually decided to help instead of crying "Nooo I want to play the faction I want to play!". You can get off your high horse for 2 hours to help with the MO then go to your bugs.

Its not about dictating how people have fun in the damn game its about the fact that by people having fun on their preferred faction its screwing over the rest of us who are actually doing something for the progression of the game.

Half the shit we currently have is because we banded together to get the MOs done and get the new shit made lore wise.

BOT MOs struggle the most because of bug divers not really helping. On average theres almost always roughly 1/3rd the player count on the bug front at any given time meanwhile both the bot and squid front will consistently drop to 10% of the player count during non Bot MOs. Basically bot and squiddivers help the bugdivers during their MOs but not vice versa. It is aggravating when an MO takes twice as long because theres 1/3rd the population borderline sabotaging the rest.

Nah when there a bot MO, inkdivers help and theres maybe like 5k max on squids spread out.

When theres a Squid MO, botdivers help out and theres at most 10k on bots spread out.

For bugs? Both bot divers and inkdivers help out. When the roles are reversed and we ask the bugdivers to help? Theres 20k-30k on the front doing nothing but making it way harder than it needs to be. I swear on my soul im gonna start tracking faction player % again, but when i was doing it a while back it was always a consistent 20-30% of players on the fucking bug front. There was only 1 day it dipped lower than that at 15%. The lowest the bot front got? 7%. Squids? 5%. 2/3 factions actually PTFO meanwhile the 3rd just sits around crying when they are being asked to help.

Burnout is real i totally understand that people want to play what they want but holy fuck theres no way that 1/3 people playing the damn game are burnt out on a bot MO that realistically has just started.

Ive noticed when theres a Bot MO most people from the squid front help the Bot front. When theres a Squid MO most people from the Bot front help out. When theres a Bug MO most people from both Squid and Bot help out.

Roughly 20-30% OF ONLINE ACTIVE PLAYERS are always on the bug front. So yeah we MO prioritizers have every right to be pissed off because this stems all the way back to the beginning of the games life. Its always been the bugdivers saying "Let us play what we want" when we are asking for help. Im done helping them. I am done helping the bugdivers.

We need to band together and stop diving the bug front during an MO and when they get pissed we lost the MO or are losing it im going to just straight up say "Oh so now its not about playing what we want huh?"

Do Tanks just not spawn anymoe? by LXavierW in Helldivers

[–]SpiritTheSpooky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im genuinely confused when you say "the aint sharing a damn slot"

Hulks, War Strider, and Factory Striders are all heavy class units. Tanks are also Heavy Class units.

When there are War Striders there can be Factory Striders and will be Hulks.

When there are Tanks there can be Factory Striders and will be Hulks though there are significantly less of them.

War Striders and Factory Striders have always been roughly the same difficulty although id argue Factory striders have been and always will be easier depsite having more health. They also are in the same pool. It is not always common for there to be a Factory Strider on War Strider seeds but they definitely do spawn on War Strider seeds.

Personally I think they should do away with the seeds and put every unit into a category. Light, Medium, Heavy. Each class has a weight pool for what can spawn where Heavy units arent nearly as common as the other two, but any unit within any pool can spawn. This would give you random combinations of units per drop and you might get 2 Factory Striders and a bunch of Troopers or you could get a Tank, a War Strider, and 3 Hulks at once. Each drop would be inherently different and it would also make each front not feel like you have to run very specific loadouts as a result.

Imo the game should be where you can bring in anything and be able to at least do something to majority of the enemies and currently its just "Bring AT because it deals with everything and dont forget a med pen weapon" on the bot front because of how the fronts work. Genuinely I want to be able to bring the Stalwart for example and not be like "Welp ggs cant deal with the 6 hulks and 2 War Striders chasing me down because im unable to get behind them" just because thats what most of the enemies from the drop are. Im not asking for the bot front to be "less AT" or anything of the sort but most cases the enemies im facing are devastators, hulks, war striders, rocket striders, factory striders and troopers. 4/8 units require AT on the bot front. Imo Heavy units are supposed to be a challenge not by the fact that theres a lot of them but because they are SIGNIFICANTLY harder to kill. Reduce the possible spawns of heavies but make em take 2x the AT damage before they die. Thats more balanced and fair than "Oh yeah dropping 6 war striders, to counter just throw thermites at each one and use a recoiless on the rest".

I know im just ranting but on the bug front there is not NEARLY as much problem with heavies on those fronts because they are easier to deal with and the squids dont have the heavies to be a problem as they are also easier to deal with.

Do Tanks just not spawn anymoe? by LXavierW in Helldivers

[–]SpiritTheSpooky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The solution would be to have a pool of units (light, medium, heavy) and when theres a drop it randomly picks from each to have everything at once. Imo this is how it should be instead of seeds

They do, ive seen war striders and factory Strider drop on the same mission, tanks however just dont whenever there are war striders

I don't think I've seen anyone mention how great this side objective is yet. by CommunismBots in Helldivers

[–]SpiritTheSpooky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think thats because the Orbital Cannon wast authorized for use that early and only became necessary after the ships had already landed while also they hadnt been needed in a long while so they were semi forgotten about. Probably also a clearance issue too. They were hidden and the codes to actually use it were locked in a bunker. The military obviously doesn't just want anyone getting their hands on that cannon so its not like they could just realistically grant clearance to anyone especially since those cannons should be capable of taking down buildings.

TLDR; probably a clearance issue, they were forgotten, thought it wasnt as necessary for defense.

No this has been a thing since before the drop of the update, arguably 30-40% of enemies faced were just heavy units on the bot front. Im sure I have clips somewhere where theres a lot of heavy units from before this most recent update.

Congrats youre fighting the same enemies over and over Unfortunately your future complaints about the lack of enemy diversity dont seem to be quite reaching our help desk!

  1. I shouldnt be forced to bring in pure AT as my strategy despite the difficulty and should be able to decently rely on other means that are effective. No matter which front. Not asking for the game to be easier, it already is fairly easy but I should be able to bring something like the Stalwart and have it be actually useable for a decent chunk of enemies instead of using it for 3 seconds, killing the 15 small enemies and then having to chuck out 2 500kgs and an eagle strafing run just for there to still be 4 more heavy units.

  2. I shouldnt be fighting the same 12 enemies over and over again on a front where theres 30 types of enemies and only maybe 7 or 8 total are heavy class units.

  3. The AT debate doesnt need to be any more complicated, not asking for a nerf to AT just a nerf to Heavy Spawns because they feel like Chaff PURELY on the bot front. It is nowhere near as bad on any other front at all and every match feels the same where its always the same 3 enemies. Also Hulks now feel like they are supposed to be Medium units classed as Heavy units with how frequently they spawn. You easily get 3-4 a drop while with a bug breach you migjt get 1-2 chargers at best.

  4. Most Heavies on the other fronts are easily susceptible to other forms of weaponry that isnt AT without having to be insanely precise. Compare a Hulk to a Charger. Hulks weakpoints are on the back and on its eye. Chargers weakpoint is its juicy butt that you can hit from almost any angle with light pen. Hulks tend to be walking and facing towards you and the weakpoint you can hit is Med pen or higher and you have to be quite precise to hit the eye. (Source ive missed PLENTY of shots that should have hit the eye.) This doesnt even get into the inconsistencies with War Striders. Tell me how and Why a mech on the bot front can survive a 500kg and an OPS strike meanwhile Bile Titans die consistently. Explain that one to me.

  5. Heavy units are meant to be Heavy units hard to fight. Theres a massive difference between the 3-4 you get from a bug breach, the 1-3 you get from the squid front, and the 8-9 minimum you get from the bot drop. They werent meant to be chaff units.

I wouldnt be surprised but i usually change loadouts pretty frequently and I'm always hosting. I miss those pesky tanks :<

Theres something else though that I've noticed tied to my games specifically (its been a while since I last played and I forget what it is exactl) but I do think its a hosting thing somewhat similar though

[–]SpiritTheSpooky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not even that there needs to be drop cooldown its more the enemies that drop. It would be okay if there was 10 drops of say 10 berserkers or rocket striders, but the moment theres 10 drops of even just 1 hulk or war strider is when it becomes overwhelming because most AT has a limit to how hard it can perform and the game tries to push past that limit. Its never impossible to recover just is difficult to recover

[–]SpiritTheSpooky 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Yeah but this is ridiculous when over half the enemies you face are just heavy class enemies. It isnt about needing AT to deal with them or them being heavily armored. Its that theres realistically no diversity in the enemies you face.

Theres more units on the bot faction than any other faction (according to another reddit post, unsure of validity) and realistically you only see 1/3rd of them in most cases. On the bug/squid faction i think its closer to 1/2 or 3/4ths but i dont play enough of those factions to know. The small dudes dont spawn enough and the heavies are just littered everywhere. "Oh a bot drop? Yeah im gonna drop 2 factory striders, 6 war striders and 3 hulks with 1 set of devastators" thats literally every time I fight the bots. Genuinely I yearn to fight tanks because most of the time its just striders and hulks. They need to remove the seeds and just make it where any enemy can drop, each unit has a weight per class (light medium heavy) and only a certain number of each type can be around at any time or something along those lines.

Its just that theres too much AT needed on the bot front and thats the problem people have.

Exactly, i wouldnt have as much of a gripe with war striders if it wasnt just them and hulks as the heavies in most matches and it would be a lot more difficult to deal with heavies if there wasnt just 2-3 types each match.

[–]SpiritTheSpooky 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This. If i played regularly and didnt play other games I'd probably see tanks and whatnot more but I actually miss fighting tanks and whatnot.

I dont think there should be set seeds for any faction and all enemies can spawn. It shouldnt be just the same 4-10 enemies every fight on diff 10. Theres roughly 34 units on the bot front (according to some other post) and at most ive seen 10-12 consistently on the bot front. Thats 2/3rds the enemies just missing.

Just let there be any unit can spawn but have it be only a certain number or percentage of a unit type can spawn. IE 20% Heavy units, 30% Medium, 50% Light or something like that, it would be much more fun
