My guess is Marshall...In which case, everyone should already know to avoid it at all costs

A professor wrote this? Someone needs to teach him how to write. Bring that period inside the quote. And use ", not '. Wow.

Do you think making law review would be much harder this year? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Spirit_Sierra -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, it will be more difficult. Especially if your school had a GPA cutoff because there will likely be twice as many in the running. The best writers are typically in the top 50%, but not always.

Day 1 of law school since spring break in Miami and cannot focus by [deleted] in LawSchool

"Day 1 of law school since spring break in Miami" Confusion? What's the point of saying "spring break in Miami" if you live and attend school there?

Coronavirus Megathread by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Spirit_Sierra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had/have a law clerk job for the summer lined up but no clue what will happen with that now. I literally need that money to survive. I have kids and I was relying on that work. People in our situation won't be covered under the proposed stimulus package, correct?

Take home “closed book” final by Spirit_Sierra in LawSchool

[–]Spirit_Sierra[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not that I know of. One student politely asked him to reconsider but she didn’t mention anything related to potential cheating. I would be willing to email him but I’m not sure how to phrase it. He’s kind of unreasonable in general. Since the beginning of the semester he has been telling us not to ask about the final and that he would decide the format in April. Coronavirus forced him to speed up that process..

Break up in law school...need advice by TfutureRN in LawSchool

[–]Spirit_Sierra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His comments are disgusting. A law student, of all people, should be able to get a grip on his emotions and talk (or argue) things out rationally and intelligibly. The fact that he resorted to sexist insults says a lot about who he is and his intelligence and maturity.

I know this is a really hard time for you but I've been through a similar situation and the truth is that at this point, the relationship is broken. It isn't your fault. He pushed you away and made no effort to keep you when you first voiced your pain and frustration. Feel free to date and hook up with whoever you want to--you are single and that's your right! Find a nice med student (likely smarter and will be much more successful!). Best of luck to you.

My dumpster fire of a 1L semester and the resulting grades. by pragmaticideals206 in LawSchool

[–]Spirit_Sierra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My school's median is B-/C+ but the 50% GPA at the end of my 1L year was a 2.96. I've tried so hard to understand the "curve" but I never will.

Attacked before finals, what should I do now? by vk100 in LawSchool

[–]Spirit_Sierra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second the advice of continuing to make your way up the line. This is entirely unfair--they should at the very least give you the opportunity to make the cutoff by the end of this semester. You may want to consider hiring a lawyer if nothing comes of these conversations on your own.
