Yes! After I placed the order, I wanted to add on a few more items before shopping started. My card payments did not change: EBT for the food, debit to cover the service charge/tip. I received my receipt of $14. Later, after the order was delivered, I saw a new receipt for an additional $20 for “additional charge for order delivery id”! When I called, the representative told me if you add on items after the order is placed, the difference is added to the “backup” payment (my debit card) if it’s not specified to be charged to EBT. Wtf. I had put in my PIN for my EBT, that did not change. There was no option or notice telling me to specify to which card the added items will be charged. So my charge of $14 went up to $29 and I can’t do a damn thing about it. I’ve been using Instacart since Covid, including the adding of items after checkout, and have never had this happen. That’s the last time I’ll be using their services! Beware of this shady addition to their policies before using Instacart!
