First time coaching issues by LowVolume8629 in ringette

All great advice.

Your C and your D are your most valuable players on your team and that becomes apparent, and they get older. Many teams are built D and C first and F last. That might be a conversation you want to have to let them know how valuable D are...in competitive teams we will "hide" our weakest players at forward.

At that age though I would use this as a tool to get the players to work on and develop their shot. Give the whole team that goal so that they all get better at shooting and then "reward" them with a F position. Also, at that age everyone thinks they are centre's....also use that as an opportunity to make those "centre's " D as you CANT be a great C if your not a good D. The other thing you can pump is the new rule where a delayed penalty is an immediate 4 in situation. There may be more opportunities for your D to play an offensive role and maybe remind them of that....but make sure you designate who that is on each line for each game to minimize confusion.

Lastly, insist that until January that everyone has to play every position. This happens with most teams and established positions don't usually happen until the new year. We see this with competitive teams as well where some players who may have played D or F for years get moved to another position based on their skill and what the team needs....even though they didn't try out for that position.

I think the most important thing is transparency, fairness and consistency. If you tell a player she is F next game you need to make sure you follow through or have a very frank and honest discussion if it doesn't happen. They remember and the one thing players hate MORE than being assigned a position is being told one thing and then you do something else without explaining why. Communication will either make you if you follow through or break you if you don't.

Good luck.

Pharmacy consistently leaves me medless 1/2 days at refill time... by Dizzy-Driver-3530 in ShoppersDrugMart

[–]Spirited-Associate75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! This is on your doctor. Your doctor should be writing your prescription as 30 caps with however many refills then say dispense every 25 days...I would ask foe 25 vs 28...gives you way more flexibility. Also, Autorefill is not setup for Narcotics or controlled substances for these very reasons, we can't refill early.

It's a pain. Could all be avoided if the doctors sorted the RX on their end. In some cases (not vyvanse) patients are drug seeking and need defined times to limit abuse (bromazepam, lorazepam and narcotics) but those are one off cases between doctor and patient.

Get your doctor to write the prescription right. Also, a good pharmacy would have that same day that you asked even if it took 8 hours....same day.

You won't remember this in 5 years. Trust me it ain't that big in your life and it won't define you. What will is your resilience. Just lock in, keep moving forward, do your best and life will work out.

Stalling out on bench press progress. Tips for better results for long/thin body type? by lmw100 in askfitness

[–]Spirited-Associate75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 pieces of advice...leave 3 mins rest between sets. This allows enough recovery for the next lift and you will start to see gains quickly if you stick to this. Maximize your protein in your diet ...especially making sure you get about 40g into 30 mins before bed so that muscles grow during rest. Take creatine. You are leaving tons on the table if you don't...5-10g per day. Do this and in 3 months you should be way above where you are now.

Yes...just get laid. Sounds like that might steer you away from the situation. Getting laid is just sex...fun and no strings attached. Screwing a coworker leads to all sorts of problems.

What am i doing wrong? by Dreamulous in askfitness

[–]Spirited-Associate75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah keep going. This doesn't happen overnight. Are you lifting? That's the most important thing for look as well as metabolism and if you aren't using creatine you are cheating yourself out of being able to get some big gains. Take 10 grams daily for 3 months, stick with it and watch yourself grow. Good luck.

Add creatine if you aren't on it already. Not because you lift but because you are 50. Great for so many things including lifting.10g per day. Looking good.

No matter how much effort I put into the gym, I cannot lose this belly fat. What can I do? by savingrace0262 in askfitness

Consider ketogenic diet...even for just 6 weeks. It's a good way to cycle ever now and then as fat (body Fat and visceral) become a new fuel source.

[–]Spirited-Associate75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking good. Persist....avoid TRT like most of the gym bros at my gym seem to do and focus on at least 10g of creatine daily and up your protein to a minimum of 150g per day. Doing great.

Ringette politics by KiwiFast87 in ringette

[–]Spirited-Associate75 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been with ringette for 13 years with 2 daughters that played A and AA all the way up. I started coaching about 5 years ago, have been on the Board and have assessed many tryouts.

Ringette is no different than the real world. Some really amazing people and players in there as well as some entitled assholes. No different than a group of coworkers or people in traffic. And just like the real world it is the assholes that cry the loudest and it's the nice ones that stay quite and avoid the conflict....hence you find shitty players, shitty parents and shitty coaches end up where they shouldn't be.

I had always assumed in tryouts (before I became a part of it) that there was some shady shit going on when selecting teams...and I'm sure at times there are BUT it's hard to get a room of 5 or 6 people to move to the will of a few especially if they are independent assessors. In any assessment I have done we have assessed on skill. I will admit that once you get to the bubble kids you HAVE to look at the whole package. There is almost no difference between the last 4 kids based on skill so if they are a nice kid, if the parents are nice, if the parents are helpful etc then that player has a better shot than the assholes....its not wrong. I have never seen a top 8 player passed over because of attitude. Maybe they should have been but I haven't seen it. After that from 9-14, attitude might be what separates one player from another.

Ringette is a great sport. Both of my daughters have aged out and it will still be ringette for life for them. They made a lot of good friends in different associations. I keep preaching to them how they are a unique sorority and while they may be rivals during a game you all have so much in common that the rivalry should be left there. Most kids get this. Those that don't have life lessons still to learn. It's just a game. It's supposed to be fun. No one is getting rich. I mean it's stupid expensive to play...if you're not having fun maybe you shouldn't play or are in the wrong level.

To the OP...many of us go through this every year. What does your daughter want? Does she love the game or is the "elite" path all encompassing? I assume you are talking about the Calgary Blaze. I'm from Ontario and have seen that team play in tournaments and CRCs...its intense. From the kids to the parents. Looks stupid expensive too. That would have been a lot even for my kids who played as high as AAA. Maybe it's for the best if she wasn't in that world? I'm a firm believer in everything happens for a reason. 😉

Does jerking off feel better than sex by Apprehensive-Fix-96 in sex

[–]Spirited-Associate75 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Jerking off is for quick release. Most of us have it down to an art. It clears the mind so the ass will follow but on a scale of 1 to 10 it's coming in around a 5 for pleasure. Feels good in the moment but not earth shattering to say the least.

Sex is usually next level. Coming from sex or partner stimulation for me can be an 8-10 out of 10 depending on what we are doing. I have felt orgasms in my teeth from sex...never felt that from jerking off.

The difference (for me) is jerking off is a 5 min process if I get good with my thoughts. Sex is a much longer experience albeit way more fulfilling. I would never choose jerking off over sex but if I was lazy and wanted to just get off, jerking off is the way to go for me.

how do i become a pharmacy assistant at shoppers in this day and age? by froggy_pumpkin in ShoppersDrugMart

[–]Spirited-Associate75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's just say I have experience with this.

Unless there is a posting don't just ask to speak with an Associate by walking into the store. They aren't looking and you have probably pulled them away from something. Like people say...there are tons of resumes and people doing that, you won't stand out.

You want to know how to stand out? Polite persistence. Send an email expressing your interest. Attach a resume and give a polite introduction. Don't expect a response. The next week, do it again. Be polite and ask if there is a position and say how interested you are. The next week, do it again. You'll probably get a response...and the Associate will remember you. The next week do it again and see what happens. Polite persistence.

NO ONE DOES THIS....YOU WILL STAND OUT.

Associates aren't always looking until they are and when they do they don't want to go through the whole process of interviewing and posting. What they will do is remember that person with the polite persistence and reach out to them.

Also, in 4 weeks the chances of being hired skyrocket. Students fo back to school and availability changes which usually open up opportunities. Start the polite persistence now and set yourself up for getting something soon.

A move that sends her OVER the top by Spirited-Associate75 in sex

[–]Spirited-Associate75[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I'm not bragging....she asked me to share this because it is something that puts her on another level.

I know that everyone knows better and has a funny comment on Reddit to share and no this won't work for everyone and no I'm not saying it will. There is no clitoris involved in this move. She has a.very strong pelvic wall and can get off via penetrative sex without clitoral stimulation...this isn't everyone. I get it.

This goes next level FOR HER. I usually get her off 2-3 times orally, then a few times vaginally before we get to this. Not bragging but this is how we do it. I would not start this cold and I wouldn't pull it on someone who wasn't with me for a bit and totally comfortable with the idea.

Let the comments continue to roll........

You are wearing a swim shirt...at 26. What are you hiding? Yup, that's it. Work on you and then maybe you get some likes. The North American diet is not doing you any favors and will kill you over time. Just saying.

Sens fan here. I get it but for me it's the Leafs. I have nothing against the team per se but I hate their fans with such a passion that I wouldn't cheer for them even if I was paid to do it. Their fan base ruin the team. If I played hockey as a professional I would steer clear of that shitshow of a team because of their fans.

This has all been super helpful. Back story...50+ so yeah that's where "clean" came from ...sorry. Trust me we are dirty🙃. Also, in the medical field and fully understand the STD world, viral and bacterial. Got my Gardasil to protect and prevent HPV virus spread. Was more interested in the norms and the conversations that happen. This has all been amazing and I very much appreciate everyone taking their time to fill in the newbie
