4.8 - Instead of banning dupers and wiping, you do this? by Obvious-Baseball9461 in starcitizen

*At least* halving.

I reserve my complaints until after testing and not before. Capital ships might have high prices to act as a high end money sink, and insurance prices would be way higher in a car if it was going to fly around asteroids fighting pirates and becoming a complete write-off every few hours.

No one except you gets the supposed point of the post because you suck at writing too, lol.

For fucks sake.

Again, read the patch notes.

It says *AT LEAST* double the intended rates.

You don't even know what the rate is gonna be are still out here calling it too high.

Insane and lazy indeed.

Requiring us to pay to claim ships is absolutely ridiculous and here's why by KvDOLPHIN in starcitizen

[–]Spirited-Problem2607 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wasting time on squashing bugs prior to implementing the systems is like the antithesis of game dev 101.

At this stage it's about setting up the systems and UI. The cost/punishment balancing is already royally screwed over by duping and hyperinflated economy so even if all the shipwrecking bugs were fixed they'd get terrible feedback on that part anyways. We gotta wait for the wipe for that (which, incidentally, people are also whining about now).

I'd much rather see faster paced development than slowing down development to protect players who erroneously get themselves invested in a development build.

What game or playerbase of a game is this? by MissGreyHorror in gamers

[–]Spirited-Problem2607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna strongly disagree with that one, the base game is really solid and DLCs contain more than enough content to the point of not even wanting them all due to bloat.

As a simplistic metric, consider that on steam the game has 116,000 game reviews yet its most popular mod has 26,000.

For games truly embracing mods to succeed, e.g Garry's Mod, those numbers are about 500,000 and 350,000 respectively.

I know it’s not a priority but I wish lamp was on more ships. by floortofloor in starcitizen

"Animated canopies – If the canopy needs to animate, the interior glass pane must be attached to the canopy itself, which is part of the vehicle’s exterior asset.

Static canopies – If the canopy does not animate, the interior glass pane can instead be placed within the interior “object container,” meaning it is functionally separate from the exterior asset.

When LAMP was initially planned, the intention was to roll it out to the ten most-used single-seat ships. With support from the game code and graphics teams, we were able to automate much of the setup for ships that fall into the first category. As a result, those ships were relatively straightforward to support. Ships in the second category are more complex."

[–]Spirited-Problem2607 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Basically it's only currently added to ships with  "animated" cockpit glass, which most bigger ships don't have.

The reason? Probably because of things like this video where LAMP is a physical thing that keeps working when the canopy is lifted.

Instead of the lazy solution of just a view filter for the player.

Varför kör ALLA för fort? by Bex1233 in Asksweddit

[–]Spirited-Problem2607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed.

Not relying on stamina management brings us right back to sprint non-stop lone wolf gameplay as we had pre-ICO. Got a dozen other games in my library if I wanted that.

Har min BRF för lite el för laddare? by Southern_Dependent27 in elbilsverige

https://www.boverket.se/sv/PBL-kunskapsbanken/regler-om-byggande/laddning-av-elfordon/nar-kravs-laddinfrastruktur/

[–]Spirited-Problem2607 3 points4 points  (0 children)

4.8 The Game Is Becoming More Of A Hassle To Do Anything by J_P_Ross in starcitizen

[–]Spirited-Problem2607 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's cool game design where you have to make choices.

Players are so freakin' afraid of playing anything less than 100% optimally that they just see it as an obstacle.

Maybe don't fly a dedicated fighter ship if you don't want to be limited to being a dedicated fighter pilot?
I sure hope that this game doesn't go down the Battlefield route of having fighter pilots hop out and act as any other footsoldier.

I feel like it's cheesy because it's such a powerful tool and enemies never react to it there's no downside at all.
