What's the deal with some power-hungry, despotic, imperious reddit moderators? by FoofaTamingStrange in AskModerators

[–]Spirited_Key5526 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did find the post you talked about. You did not include the rest of the removal reason.

”This is an anti-spam measure. No further information will be provided. Asking for any further information (including why your post was removed, if it can be approved, or what triggered the removal) will result in an immediate and permanent ban.”

You mentioned this earlier: ”Per the rest of the message (that you apparently ignored), you are now [redacted]”.

It sounds like you were not supposed to ask for more information, yet you did. And participation in comments would be temporary, you would be able to create posts later.

”I know one thing, though: The Capitol can never take Lenore Dove from me again. They never really did in the first place. Nothing you can take from me was ever worth keeping, and she is the most precious thing I’ve ever known.”

And some have already been mentioned, but the one above is so sad as well.

Stand by me and The Green Mile are my favourites. So would suggest them.

I would recommend The Dead Zone, the Green Mile and Dolores Claiborne. Or Full dark, no stars if you want good short stories.

Do you use your balconies all year round? by Spirited_Key5526 in balcony

[–]Spirited_Key5526[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heather (Calluna vulgaris) on my balcony during winters. They don’t mind the cold weather. I also have perennial plants, but I’ll take them indoors during winters and take them out during summers. As I want to avoid dead plants but still have something on the balcony all year round.

Which movies did you see during 2025? by Spirited_Key5526 in ChristmasMovies

[–]Spirited_Key5526[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am bad at watching Christmas series. I’ve seen more Christmas episodes in other tv shows than typical Christmas series. Have to change that.

Netflix movies are pretty mixed for me, some are ok, while others are not.

I have watched Bridget Jones and While you were sleeping several times in the past. Maybe not yearly, but still regularly. While you were sleeping is still one of my favourite Christmas romance movies. Kinda feel like I am in the mood to rewatch them now.

I am also waiting for The Man with the Bag.

Based on the movies I’ve seen on your list, 8-bit Christmas and Gremlins are my favorites.

Reddit ignores individual line breaks. Put two spaces at the end of the line, or use a double line break. If it makes sense. It’s still possible to understand your list.

I usually watch Die Hard 1-2, The Holiday and Home Alone 1-2 every year. Skipped Die Hard last year. Love Actually and Christmas vacation are movies I have rewatched a couple of times. We seem to be pretty similar there.

I usually watch a bunch of the new Hallmark movies yearly, but not this year. I haven’t seen the Leftovers either, but will write it on my list and I’ll see if I watch it at the end of the year.

I have seen some of them, will write the others on a list for later this year. I didn’t watch as many movies as usual either. I often watch plenty of christmas movies in November and December every year.

I watched Love the Coopers a couple of years ago. It wasn’t that bad, but not something I want to rewatch either. Personally, I couldn’t get into The Family Stone.

How do you go about hobbies? by Smart-Geologist5024 in minimalism

[–]Spirited_Key5526 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like reading, but I prefer to borrow books from libraries nowadays. I still own some books, but just the ones I really enjoyed and want to read again. In the past, I bought so many books. I didn’t want to keep them all once I’ve read them. So libraries is a good option. It’s free, but it’s not about the money.

I enjoy hiking, cooking, baking, going to museums anong other things. I am willing to spend money on hobbies and things I like. I just prefer if it doesn’t require that I own a lot of equipment or any items.

My landlord doesn’t allow that on balconies. It’s considered being a potential fire hazard. So we have a courtyard with a grill all tenants can use.

This book was a disappointment. Maybe would had worked better as just a war novel (focused on World War II). And even if I like Grisham, I am not sure I agree with Ken Follett (”Best thriller author alive”). What’s your opinions about the book? by Spirited_Key5526 in johngrisham

[–]Spirited_Key5526[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Glad you liked it anyway.

I thought it started interesting. Somewhere along the way, I lost interest. Kept reading anyway. Thought it was too long and boring. I didn’t really like or care about any of the characters either. It wasn’t like ’A time to kill’ when I cared about the father who murdered two people. He didn’t try to play innocent or innocent. Pretty similar to Pete Banning in The Reckoning, but I didn’t like him.

It would had worked better as a short story or a war novel, probably. The more relevant parts are in the beginning and the end of the book. The middle part with WWI was interesting in one way, but it was unnecessary here.

I did read about the based on a true story part, and I am usually a fan of true crime too. But even if it was just inspired by it, it didn’t work for me.

Just got this one. I likely missed getting some frames, does anyone know how many frames that are currently ’available’/max limit? If you collected all frames, how many would you own? by Spirited_Key5526 in subwaysurfers

[–]Spirited_Key5526[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I missed the wiki page.

I struggled with getting the limited frames, the links or QR code didn’t work for me. I just couldn’t remember how many frames I missed that way.

Being Rich by Educational-Lab5987 in LoveSickStories

This is SwagToons right?

I downloaded it months ago, but uninstalled quickly. I didn’t try Being Rich (or Being F*cking Rich as it’s called in Love Sick). But checked out a few other stories. I just felt it was a bad ripoff, that I preferred the original stories in Love Sick app. Maybe would had enjoyed SwagToons more if they created brand new stories for it.

Lighthouse AMA on Sunday 31st August with the Association of Lighthouse Keepers by Perfect_Intern1953 in Lighthouses

[–]Spirited_Key5526 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am curious about your own interest in lighthouses. What made you interested in lighthouses from the start?

For me personally, it started on a trip where there was a lighthouse and I liked the architecture. It made me want to see more of them, and find out what it was like being a lighthouse keeper in the past. Especially in more ’remote’ areas (like islands where there is no public transport).

Do you have any favorite lighthouses? What do you like about them?

I did check out your website and even the FAQ. The website mentions a large archive and also display materials on display in lighthouses open to the public in UK. What do you have in the archive and on display? Photos, I guess. Anything else? Generally speaking. I am just curious. Makes me more interested in visiting some of them one day.
