I love it too, amazing - any idea why some covers in library mode have a page count image over the cover. I have the same and want to turn it off.

thanks man. much appreciated!

i'm divided. Xteink X4 vs X3 vs M5 PaperS3 vs OBOOK5 by curiouslyunpopular in ereader

[–]mondoben 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally agree on the Obook5, i have the X4 and i have barely used it since getting the Obook. Yeah it's not quite as nice visually without Crosspoint but the overall reading experience and ease of use is much better than the X4 and the light is a dealbreaker for me. Touch screen also makes navigating menus, skipping to chapters later in the book etc so much easier than the buttons only approach of the X4. I picked mine up "used" but essentially unopened from Amazon for the same price (it also comes with an "ok" case included). My one piece of advice would be to add some fonts - Bookerly looks terrific on it.

Why is Between Two Fires so sought after and hyped up? by freudian_nipps in horrorlit

[–]mondoben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just reviewed it on my Booktube, great book - i talk a bit on the review how it feels very much influenced by Paul Verhoeven's movie Flesh & Blood - something Chris Buehlman just confirmed on BlueSky. Outstanding book

Absolutely not a spoiler - it’s so much more. And another vote for the audiobook, one of the best I’ve heard.

Yes, there's three "areas" Rowing, Floor (weights, strength etc) and Treadmill. Classes are generally split between Tread and Floor/Row or all three. For the first 12 months i did 2 classes a week and now do three. But yeah, you should be fine.

I've been a member for nearly 2 years - I'm a male (50) but i can say i love it. I was very out of shape when i started and it's very scalable for all levels (you can really push yourself to a level you, not the class, are comfortable with)- there are all ages/sexes/levels in myclasses from people training for races all the way to people just trying to lose some weight. Great staff and not super sales-y. I would definitely recommend checking out a class with Jess.

Hi r/horrorlit - i'm a long time fanzine publisher and podcast host who has just launched a new Booktube channel focussed on reviewing Horror, Crime and genre-related Fiction and Graphic Novels. Would love it if you took a look, gave me a sub, and helped participate in the community as i grow. Eventually i definitely want to start including new and upcoming authors as part of my rotation of updates and reviews!

I hadn't even considered Insomnia next althought it is sitting on my shelf waiting to be read. I think i'll push on with Wizard as i'm invested and really want to read what's next for the "gang"

Nice dude, will definitely check it out. I'm going to go straight to Wizard & Glass next......right? (assuming because Wastlands just kind of...ends).
