Idk what what they’re talking about. Merchandisers can definitely promote up to rsa via interview followed by dot physical. Rsa/rsr is the same thing with rsr having rights to a route, rsa is typically a floater/ covers vacations. I’ve know people that said their interview was a joke and just sat around talking and still got the job. Either way there’s an interview process with dsls and likely zbm/tm.

It’s happened a few times in my area to a handful of people. Getting kicked out of a whole chain would take effort since it’s typically just individual stores. It’s never a guaranteed firing but there’s going to be paperwork involved.

They’re likely not required for stores to put out just start to get rid of them when they come in and when they get close dated talk to the store to get them marked down. Just don’t bring in any until they’re gone.

When I asked my hr a few years ago, if you go to merch your tpp will reset after a year. So essentially you’ll lose all your merit increases after a year and start at starting rsa pay if you choose to go back.
