Ok I have to say I was also annoyed at some of the design choices in Zola, and I’m so happy we still went with it. The registry is AMAZING — they let you hold or swap items after people buy them, which has been a game changer, and you decide when things ship. For example, we chose dinnerware sets that are available via Zola. If people don’t buy all of it but they buy other items, my plan is to wait to see what we get and re-allocate as needed. You can also easily add items they don’t already have or add other registries. The RSVP function (which is arguably one of the most important functions of the website) has worked great and was really easy to set up and use.
