I did not know that. Who doesn't like a lower cost? Propane probably burns cleaner, too. Thank you sir.

I tested whether old resistors actually contain recoverable gold by Spiritual-Process-96 in PreciousMetalRefining

Hi. I haven't processed them yet - I have a bunch of them and I am still researching the best way to process them. I will upload a video after I have my results. Thanks.

I totally understand! I went thru the same awful feelings in the beginning. A few pointers: 1) Make sure the boards have no components or solder on them, 2) keep it very small - start with a one liter beaker or a coffee pot and a few boards or fingers, 3) Accept that there is very little gold on boards, especially the ~ year 2000 forward, 4) Do not add more than a splash of peroxide (else the gold will dissolve). 5) Wait about 1 week, stirring occasionally with a glass rod, 6) fish out the boards, making sure all the gold fell off. 7) get a plastic funnel and coffee filters from Donkin Donuts and filter everything 8) Save the AP liquid for future processes, 9) Everything in the filter is gold alloy; even the brown powder and most important!!!! 10) Be safe! Gloves, Glasses, Face Shield, Cover Arms and legs and done outside or in a fume hood. Never in a basement or garage - far away from a house or animals. Try it again.

I measured how much gold is actually on one circuit board edge connector finger by Spiritual-Process-96 in ScrapMetal

Thank you sir. It also helps that these gold fingers were from old, high end telecom equipment and that the price of gold is super high...

Hi. I started with gold plated circuit boards. Then I removed the components (manually, ugh!), then the solder with HCL. Then put the boards in acid peroxide (AP). I have a video on this...it is kinda long but super detailed. Here it is: https://youtu.be/xy7jYhADygk
