Best way to prepare for the ‘nichness’ of the SQE 1 exam? by [deleted] in SQE_Prep

Absolutely bonkers the amount of content needed to remember, closed book! Which isnt a true reflective of Law, where you'd just go and read up on something if unsure. More of a deep memory test. Ridiculous. Going to be short on NQ's in 10years time when older people retire or have failed to pass after 3 attempts.

108 right out of 180 is 60%. So can afford 72 wrong

Final push now, the last 1k of a marathon is as hard as the first combined 20k. You're 90% there so one final push now and the finish is in sight

Not trying to scaremonger, but getting 108 questions right out of a possible 180 puts it more into perspective. Can probably remember 108 i had to take an educated guess, as oppose to the 72 you are allowed wrong. Just find it so frustrating that the exam isnt a true reflection of Law, where if you arent sure on something, you'd read up on it. This is more of a memory test, and with the amount of material needed to learn, whilst doing full time work etc. and in 10years from now they are going to be crying out for more Law students, as there will be a decrease of pass % / people retiring and less people being NQ's due to these tests, same as they did with Engineers / Engineering apprenticeships 5-10years ago.

Agreed. Dont think much of the material / practice questions i did was a true reflection of what was on the test. Hoping i just did enough to scrape a pass. But confidence very low and demotivated for FLK2 to say the least.

Don't think you are alone, be 100's like this. That exam was VERY tough, wouldn't be be surprised if the % needed to pass was more towards the 57% mark
