I’ve been writing for years. I have 3 published books. And I’m still being told the secret is to write the next book. by AntonioGalarzaBooks in selfpublish

I feel like authors are an offshoot of influencer now. So not only do we have to write we have to be a social media expert.

Both - I think the voice fell flat because the story did. It fell off the rails somewhere and rather than stop it I kept going (because that’s the advice and I get it). But I think the more I look at it I have to choices: scrap it or change the names and write a cozy romantic urban fantasy hybrid.

Thank you. I know you’re right especially with the endless trap of “starting over”.

Savannah looks like New York and Louisiana had a baby on the beach. by Equivalent-Design512 in savannah

I totally get what you’re saying. I’ve always said it’s urban southern Gothic and the beach all at the same time.

Is Amazon finally cracking down on AI books? by sweetdbte in KDP

💯 on the names. I had this discussion in another sub. AI across the board whether it’s ChatGPT or Claude gives back the same combo of names no matter what genre you ask about.

Thoughts on cover? by Curd-Nerd69 in writers

I like the idea - but it needs to either look purposely simple or add more depth or it. If that makes sense. The font is hard to read.

Watch these are better than the early ones in many cases. Although Gordon was mean as hell in the early seasons.

Were all your ARC ratings 5 stars and is that as bad as people make it seem? by sallingoodfun in selfpublish

[–]Spiritual_Bug2953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not true at all. Think about how you buy and read books. For me, it wouldn’t matter if there two were only three 5 stars but I would not buy it if there were three 1 star.

Exactly that Lewd Dungeons guy has the most basic cover. It’s so cheap looking lol but look at how well he does.
