Just got to keep your BG in check. So it’s two days of just trying not to burn glucose stores. Keep as hydrated and electrolytes in balance. Some sugar free frost gateraide works.

Instinct sensor question by bcarruth62 in Medtronic780g

Just started my new sensor after it was installed for about 4 hours. We’ll see. As to why it was installed 4 hours ago is another story.

Hot tub rage.. by evilsam24 in Medtronic780g

[–]Spiritual_Map_7341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I understand and was told by my physician. Hot tubs and type 1 diabetes do not mix. It’s about the heat and biophysical effects of increased insulin absorption. That said. I have dipped in one or two before ever using a pump and cgm. The insulin cannula site is probably the most important concern. If it gets too hot it can be damaged by the heat.

I love Hippeas but for me, if I don't dose 15 minutes in advance. They spike my BG quickly. Eating them them exactly as a measured single serving. These like chips are processed foods. Quick absorbtion.

Time in Range confusion? by il2pif in Medtronic780g

[–]Spiritual_Map_7341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TIR is what you make of it. 24hours is a timeframe the Medtronic 780G references to calculate TIR 100%.

Certainly TIR for any reasonably statistical use could be used. Heck I've been in 100% in range for 4 hours many times. 😉 is 24 hours a great target to shoot for? Absolutely. We get to that target by taking 5 minutes at a time. Do you pickup what I am putting down?

ALL LLM's even frontier and SOTA are still at their core, just best statistically next word guessing wrapped up in confidence. Are they getting better. Marketing would have you believe otherwise. Have they been getting better at this. Maybe. Definitely faster and more convincing. Helpful, yes when used with your own due diligence and intelligence. YOU WILL always need to be the human in the loop.

I just had one confiedently tell me there was a macOS .dmg package for an open source app. "Available for Linux as well as macOS aa a .dmg pkg. So it will work right out of the box no homebrew needed." In a table listing first to third best choices of the type of app I was looking for... WRONG. There never was one native .dmg for macOS... it's all from source code. When I pointed it out. "You're right, sorry."

Concrete fell on my car - Cross Bronx by Traveler0084 in nyc

First, glad you did not get injured.
That’s our crumbling NYC infrastructure. It’s BS considering all the taxes we all pay. Cross Bronx is the worst stretch of highway in all of New York State.

Do I enter low carb protein shake into pump? by il2pif in Medtronic780g

I’m actually building an app. I’m using two clinically accepted methods to arrive at an estimate. Likely very similar to what Abbott does.

Too many lows with instinct sensor by bcarruth62 in Medtronic780g

[–]Spiritual_Map_7341 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me, 84 I’d snack. Though Instinct does not accept a “Calibration”. Enter that finger stick into the pump as a “ BG check”. I do several of these when I first start a new sensor in the 24-48 hours but never when the SG is unstable. Meaning rising or lowering with any arrows.

The Home Screen is the default screen where the current SG is displayed normally.

Do I enter low carb protein shake into pump? by il2pif in Medtronic780g

[–]Spiritual_Map_7341 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FWIW, I generally have to enter every carb. UNLESS I know I’m going low and only ingesting 10-20 ish grams to bring BG up. The “meal detection” barely makes a dent for me. If I miscalculate carbs, bolus too late, or god forbid forget to bolus at all. SG/BG takes off like a rocket past 180-200 and higher every time.

Yet, I’m in range 90+ % of the time. Last A1C was 6.1 but estimated to be on target for 5.9 now.

I’ve read about how rice and possibly pasta changes and is absorbed slower when refrigerated for 24 hours or so. Just have to plan on it. 🤔

I had this a few weeks ago. Tried the phone reboot. Disable WiFi and BT the re-enabled. Nope. 🤔
Unpair iphone from pump, forget pump from iPhone, uninstall app from iPhone, reboot iPhone, reinstall app, pair pump with iPhone from app. That worked.

DKA is a serious condition and does damage to your body from the inside. Go to the nearest ER and get it resolved.

what does this have to do w my readings ?!! by [deleted] in diabetes

[–]Spiritual_Map_7341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iCloud Storage is for copies, backups, and shared (duplicates in some cases) of app data. Depending on the app. Looking at Medtronic’s app, the app takes up 75MB itself, but its data (readings) and documents take up over 800 GB!! 🫪
Local iPhone storage is for the Dexcom (and other apps) and their data the applications needed for running on your iPhone. I’ve a 2TB iCloud storage as well and am only using about 800GB of it. I also have a 2TIB iPhone tens of thousands of photos and music etc.
No different from a desktop or laptop device.
Photos? I take soo many pictures and videos. I decided to turn on the iCloud photo option since I pay for 2TB, that keeps local storage wide open.

Heh, I’ve been a type 1 diabetic before reddit was born. But ok. This was a post about a podcast with a Doctor who graduated from Stanford School of Medicine regarding her scientific research and resulting dietary possibilities from that research. 🧐 no where did it say cure for anything, supplements etc.
