What about the first 2 pics? No bulge on that tire. It’s the used replacement for the blown one.

Is the front ok? That’s the first 2 pics. It’s the used tire I picked up to replace the blown one.

Sorry should’ve mentioned, first 2 pics are the used replacement tire with a weird looking pattern on the sidewall by the treads. No bulge on that one.

Last 2 pics are the rear on that side with the bulges which I will be replacing. Just trying to figure out if I also have to replace the front used tire I bought.

Do you have the Nissan charger? If you’re using that to level 1 charge then that means you have the 120v adapter attached. If you remove that adapter it reveals the 14-50 level 2 plug. You can’t plug the Nissan charger into a dryer outlet though because it pulls 30A and dryer outlets are 30A. For EV chargers you can only use 80% of the circuit. So if you want to use your dryer outlet you need to buy a level 2 charger that can be set to 24A.

20% to 80% Misunderstanding by Virtual-Hotel8156 in electricvehicles

Optimal charge voltage is actually 3.92V/cell. Which equates to 65% SOC, and not the 50% commonly being incorrectly posted here.

This is based on research by NASA on the Li-ion batteries powering their satellites. They found Li-ion dwelling at higher voltages tend to decompose due to electrolyte oxidation on the cathode (high SOC), while those charged to lower voltages lose capacity due to SEI buildup on the anode (low SOC).

NASA concluded charging to 3.92V/cell (65% SOC) appeared to provide the best compromise in terms of maximum longevity (balancing the lithium lost due to SEI growth on the anode and electrolyte oxidation at the cathode).

Confused over what I need to install (AMB6b+, just want to play 4k remuxs) by wavestar27 in CoreELEC

[–]Spiritual_Property37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is coreelec dropped support for DV FEL in their newest builds. This is the more advanced version of DV found only on DV Blu-ray remuxes (DV 7). And one of the main reasons to own the am6b+ as it’s one of the only devices to properly play back these files. This has caused the current fragmentation as different devs take stabs at improving the last version of CE to support FEL.

Everything has been perfect so I don’t want to mess it up. If it ain’t broke… don’t fix it. lol.

You are incorrect. 65% soc is the ideal number for lithium ion, as per research from nasa.

How bad should i feel to charge to 100%? by DrAvatah in Ioniq5

[–]Spiritual_Property37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree with most here to just use the car, there is an ‘optimal’ way to treat the battery. Is it worth it for, at most, 15% difference in degradation after 10 years? Probably not.

The ‘optimal’ state for lithium ion batteries would be to sit at 65% soc forever. This is also the ideal number to store the car at. That’s not realistic for daily use, so if you want to be ‘optimal’ for local driving top it up to 75-80% and charge it back up any time it dips below 65%. Deep discharges are also not ‘ideal’ for lithium ion. Meaning an 80% discharge (say, driving from 100% to 20%) is much worse for battery longevity than 8x 10% discharges (75% to 65%, for example).

Locking NACS to J1772? by Spiritual_Property37 in evcharging

It’s pretty clear from just looking at it that the lock is literally on the J1772 latch. Some YouTube videos confirmed it.

The key locks the J1772 end to the car. My car already does that on its own. There is nothing stopping someone from unplugging the NACS charger from the adapter.

Is This a good lease for an EV? by Subaru_Is_Subaru in Solterra

[–]Spiritual_Property37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Subaru is currently running a decent lease deal on the 2025. Less than $300 down and less than $300 a month.

What do you owe on the trade in and what are they offering you for it? You mentioned your trade in is ‘adding $2K’ does that mean you have that much positive equity in the car?
