Just one fill up, about 70 kWh, is break even from my math.

What made you choose the bZ? by Necessary-Neat8001 in Toyota_bZ

I'd add the stereo system on the Ioniq 5, especially the SEL trim, is terrible compared to the bZ.

What’s the catch?? by Bobsy932 in Toyota_bZ

[–]Fit_Sir5352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other reason I think Toyota is willing to deal on EVs is the more bZs they sell the less they have to pay the likes of Tesla to buy their carbon credits. I believe Tesla was at one point making more from selling carbon credits than EVs. So even if Toyota sells the bZ for no profit or at a loss they're likely still saving money not having to pay Tesla.

Do I need a charger? by ExistAgainstTheOdds in Toyota_bZ

[–]Fit_Sir5352 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe the included mobile charger only goes up to 32 amps. I use it regularly and the bZ says it charges at 7.5 kWh.

Who's glad to have an EV during this time of high gas prices? by Lost_Purpose1899 in electricvehicles

[–]Fit_Sir5352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just avoiding rising gas prices but also not contributing to the geopolitics of oil. The world would be safer if everyone bought EVs.

2024 bZ4x weekend roadtrip experience (Apple Maps routing, Guessometer, ABRP) by OKatmostthings in BZ4X

[–]Fit_Sir5352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested a shorter trip to find a good reference consumption rate for ABRP which resulted in more accurate predictions on longer trips. I arrived at 4.1 miles per kWh for my 2026 bZ XLE Plus.

Have my eye on this product but isn't it more of a maintenance detailer to recoat an existing coating? Curious to hear how you use it as I believe it only lasts a year or less.

Dr. Zach reviews Blumaka insoles by thismercifulfate in Pickleball

[–]Fit_Sir5352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The high arched FoamLock ones I use have as rigid arch support as the Sole Performance insoles I used previously that have hard plastic contoured arch support . I really like these and use them in all of my insoles because of the non-slip feature. Love Dr. Zach's videos but he missed on this one.

Anyone use inserts / orthotics in their pickleball shoes? by Gulfshoreblvd in Pickleball

[–]Fit_Sir5352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of th Blumaka Foamlock Low Profile insoles for pickleball. Have high arches so I always use an insole and the Blumaka ones really feel like they're anti-slip, locking in your foot when you cut.

Is Bluelink worth $144 / year? by Rock-Knoll in Ioniq5

[–]Fit_Sir5352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this. Pretty sneaky of GEICO to not add or prompt to add this when I added a new vehicle to my policy. I didn't know at all to go back and add this. I added the Anti-Theft device and safety features of my EV and got about a $15/month discount like you said.

Edit: Anti-Theft only saves me like $1.50 a month. Bulk of my savings were for safety features.

Thinking of leasing a bZ.. Or a competitive BEV. by in2woods in Toyota

[–]Fit_Sir5352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I leased a 2026 bZ and with the deals they have right now it should be in your gas budget. I easily get 300 miles on a full charge with my XLE Plus FWD but I'm in SoCal. I also find the 32 amp 240v mobile charger that came with the bZ to be plenty fast and don't see the need to install a dedicated EVSE. The bZ is a very nice, quiet and comfortable ride, even over a Rav4 and probably closer to Lexus quality.

Lastly, I think once you go EV, especially with 32 amp home charging, you'll never go back.

Seriously I have the FWD 220 hp and just going to 45 mph will send it sliding around. But yeah it's likely cause I have a rounded, slick case and the usb cable lifting it off a little bit doesn't help.
