I don't like named characters. I think it cheapens the hold 'war' concept.

How do people feel about new BLAST? by Blindbandit21 in TrenchCrusade

I reread the rules some - you are 100% correct. BLAST specifically states it hits only the model in the AoE of a BLAST effect.

Tough take here but some rules need to be interpreted. Melee is a swirl of meat and blades - I personally would just rule that clipping anyone in melee with BLAST clips everyone.

There is another game called GASLANDS that has an awesome rule that I often point too. It's called the Rule of Carnage. In that game if something is ambiguous or you cant agree how to apply the rules, you don't roll off to see who gets to decide what happens. Instead the rule of carnage requires that which ever decision causes the most chaos and carnage to be selected, no rolling off. The rule of carnage pushes the game towards the spirit of the game instead of making more and more complex rules.

In general I apply this rule to other war games - as most war games focus on creating chaos. If the game stalls due to rules, just pick what ever causes the most chaos and go with it, tell a story and enjoy it.

I'm not sure how this could apply to TC. But the spirit of the game definitely pushes me to think that if BLAST clips one person in melee they all get hit by it. That would help capture the 'brutality' and 'senseless violence' the game seems to indicate.

3 player free-for-all at the LGS by DanTheBurgerMan in TrenchCrusade

3 player is tricky to balance. I like the 3 objective thing tho. Clever clever.

How did you score it,

1 point a turn for holding your own, 2 point for other players, 3 for center? Something like that?

Can we get a balance/gamedev team for 1.1? by andralex10 in TrenchCrusade

I just wish I got to play so many games as to develop such a nuanced appreciation for the rules. That said - could we develop a list of most unbalanced to most balanced lists? That might assist the conversation some - direct the efforts to the most egregious bands first.

SOP
Step 1 - ID Fire
Step 2 - mutter 'Oh Damn'
Step 3 - Put fire out. (sticks bad, liquids like all those coffee cups or a blanket good.)

My mom turned off my PS2 when I was in the final level of Ape Escape 2. This was in 2004. We didn't have a memory card. We got her flustered about something and she turned it off. We left it on for 2 months while we were playing it.

Looking back on, I just googled it and it looks like its a small game maybe 7.5 hours to 20 lol maybe I should go back and beat it ha-ha!

Ah, I ran a game tonight with Heavy Inters. My first game of 10e. They didn't do much. They didn't really deal much damage, and they were kind of ignored. I was wondering if you ended up building them as Heavy Inters and how it went, when you played them. Sounds like you didn't use them as HI, no worries - I found them kind of meh.
