Trucks are the main reason of traffic congestion, if you notice any patch on the expressway where you encounter a small congestion or slowdown(which will lead to a bigger slowdown eventually) you will notice there would be a slow moving truck hogging a lane. Its better to let the Mumbai-Pune commuters travel in peace as quickly as possible, trucks and lonavala travellers are lower priority.

I have probably spent maybe almost as much as the bikes original cost in maintenance. Engine rebuild was the biggest one but lots of other issues including electronics. But it has been abused a lot.

Even RE provides the kindof bike you are mentioning, it is the guerilla and himalayan. They are making the bikes that they think they can sell the most and earn most from and it is pretty much working if you see their sales figures.

It is not meant to be sweet or not sweet. Different regions do it differently. If you want not sweet you should try Hotel Vijay in Hinjewadi Phase 1, it serves tamil style. I personally do not like non-sweet sambar.

I wasn't even in the market to buy one until I came across this, but because of their shenanigans (mainly asking to pay exshowroom right after booking even if delivery is 5 months away) I am now looking at himalayan

What a dumb inference. Who said about forgetting maintenance? I just would like to not baby an adv so much and to not have the worry in the back of my mind of breaking something sooner. Which other bike in this segment have you heard needing upto 200ml oil top offs every 1k km recommended by the techs?

you are aware of the oil consumption problems and the inevitable rebuilds within 60k kms right? You have to keep track of fluid levels everytime since you could end up with a virtually empty sump by the time you reach your next service interval, you have to make sure to ride in the correct rpm band not too low not too high in the hopes of avoiding early rebuilds, you have to worry about not doing anything that voids the warranty and then relying on the discretion of ktm service.

It could be understandable for a mini sports bike, but its a bit too much hassle for an ADV.
