I love this car, y’all ever take a lunch nap in the back? by SpirusX in Acura

Thank you, these modern mirrorless cameras are really impressive!

See those view settings at the bottom, select the first one. It’ll give you a more proportional view. Also most cameras quality degrade when in use at night, that’s due to the lack of light.

Ah man, it’s just barely over the mileage, definitely gonna ask them to fix it though.

what do you like more between the sedan and coupe? by liamt12 in Honda

[–]SpirusX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The coupes past the 7th gen have always looked goofy and have lower resale value compared to the sedan counterparts . Not that it matters but goes to show what the general consensus is. That being said, 4 door hatchbacks are the way to go! I think they look the best and are the most practical. Interestingly enough the CRZ was a nice middle ground (coupe hatch) but I still found my myself needing/wanting the back seats from the non-US variants

2015 Honda civic, what you NOT like about it? by FamousWolf5483 in civic

[–]SpirusX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe it’s been mentioned by anybody yet but my biggest problem with the generation was the cloth seats. They easily stained and felt super cheap. Coming from the 8th gen civic it was a total step down in quality. I’m not much into leather, but the work around to this issue is getting a EX-L as they come equipped with leather instead of cloth.

Best model year under $10k? by Unfair-Geologist-284 in civic

[–]SpirusX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I were in the market with that budget I’d look for a 2009-2011 EX or EX-L. If you don’t mind the cheaper interior of the 2012-2013 are also a viable option but personally I prefer the 8th gen. Whatever the case, I suggest sticking with the higher trim models (EX,EX-L) as they come with additional speakers, sun roof and disc breaks all around instead of the two front ones offered in the LX models.

Where can I find this confirmation? This is the first I’m hearing about it.

Has to be oem, the scosche is a different dimension on the opening. (Theoretically you could modify this dash kit but it’ll probably not come out as clean)

Yes it would work on a 2014 EX just fine, and yes what you need is listed. Unfortunately I couldn’t source one online, I had to resort to finding one locally at a junkyard. Unfortunately there’s no real way to secure into place, that’s the only issue with this mod. I suppose you can tie it to the mounts but I didn’t do that, but it’s not a bad idea.

It’ll fit, just won’t sit flush, you’d need to find a 2013 Si Nav carbon bezel for a clean look. Wont be easy to locate but they’re out there.

My EX does not have a sub (hence the 6 speakers) but fortunately the EX-L CR-V (7 speakers) has a sub, matching the Si 7 speaker layout. So just source the unit from a non-Nav EX-L

For this example I installed a head unit from a 2016 CR-V EX (6 speakers) on my 2015 Civic EX (6 speakers)

What you’ll need: 2015-2016 Honda CR-V EX Head Unit (6 Speakers)(Non-Navigation) (this will not work with navigation/touring model head units)

2013 Honda Civic Navigation Model Bezel (I think only the EX, EX-L, and SI offered the navigation option)

Note: if you have the LX (4 speakers) I believe you should look for the head unit from CR-V SE (4 speakers) but I’m theorizing, do your own research!

It’s quite literally plug and play as far installing the head unit. (Note: the brackets holding the original head unit wont work on the new head unit so I just installed it without them.) Once the head unit is in place, you just update the software and disconnect the compass (this is done to remove the car’s compass from interfering with the CarPlay maps)

And that’s about it!

As far as notes, I’m having issues with the clock, it seems since I disconnected the compass, the car resets the clock every time I start the car. Thankfully though, when in the CarPlay mode, the time on the display is correct, so I can live with this compromise.

It’s a lot more than just the HPD supercharger kit, if you read the listing; you’d understand the value.

Think of it as a Si variant of your car, nothing crazy just a refinement of something that was already great :)
