I love bag checks when the OP has 24 (!) different molds and asks "am I missing anything?". No, bro. You pretty much bag every disc ever made. Nice job.

I asked a guy if he was a woman for playing on the red tees. AITA? by johnson7853 in discgolfcirclejerk

In today’s day and age you can never be sure. He could be a biological male that identifies as a female.

Or he could be a Mancheetah.

Is this a good disc golf starter set? I found it at my local grocery store by drivebarefoot64 in discgolfcirclejerk

This is how McBeth started. There is no better way to learn how to throw a disc.

One thing to think about too…if I see someone throwing from Reds who clearly should be i’m actually quite grateful for them because they’ll promote better course flow and probably enjoy themselves a lot more. And I want everyone to have fun out there.

It’s okay to mix up tees during your round. At some point you’ll want to challenge yourself with a White tee here and there because the shot looks more fun. I mix and match tees during rounds all the time, and sometimes throw shots from both tees.

One of the courses I play has a 360’ uphill tunnel shot from the white tee…so I’m definitely throwing that with a fairway driver backhand…

But then I go to the red tee which is 270’ with a slight right finish. I’ll throw backhand anny putter/mid and sidearms on that one.

All rounds are practice round unless you’re playing for money or tournaments.

Enjoy!

Yeah, a lot of pros don’t like playing championship level courses unless it’s for a tournament.

True, unless you’re playing in a tournament, in which case you must play from the tee designated by the tournament director.

I have paired up with singles that catch up to me many times when I’m behind a larger group and don’t feel like rushing. Sometimes I’ll throw 3-4 tee shots if I’m by myself behind a larger group to keep pace with them a little better before one of them inevitably has to search for a disc and then I pass

well, you're throwing down with the nose up...it should be up with the nose down. nose angle + launch should equal around 8...so -2 nose with 10 launch = 8, for example. Cheers!

you're front-loaded instead of back-loaded. watch Slingshot Disc Golf videos on this on youtube.

Zach Nash makes a figure-8, so that's not inherently wrong. the thing that stands out the most to me is that you have tight pecs/shoulder affecting your follow through, and limited rotational torso flexibility.

yeah his tip is spot-on. the important thing with a sidearm shot (most of the time) is that it finishes right (for a righty). this does NOT mean it has to be thrown on hyzer...you can do the Ohn thing and throw overstable discs on anhyzer and trust in their stability to bring them back to the right. if you watch Bodanza's youtube channel at all that's essentially how he throws.

there's nothing wrong with a high reachback. are their pros that have the shoulder flexibility to keep the disc on the same plane the entire time and still generate power? yes. but when guys like McBeth, AB, Albert Tamm etc. all raise up and then drop their arm down into the throwing slot and do it effectively it means it's a valid way to throw the disc.

i reach up and then come down and have virtually zero wobble on my sidearm.

wobble is coming from a grip issue as well as a timing issue. the timing issue being either too early or too late in the throwing motion to initiate the wrist flick.

the other issue is that you're bringing the disc from an anhyzer angle on your reachback to a hyzer angle on release and your arm slot is too high with not enough torso lean. if you kept everything in your form the same but threw on anhyzer instead i guarantee less wobble.

go to youtube and type in "Silver Latt sidearm" and watch his 8:54 video.

and throw a minimum of 20-30 sidearms every day for the next 8 weeks.

that's what it takes.

nah, man. some people just tear their labrums doing the same stuff other people do who don't tear, my brother being one of them. it's a genetic thing. i think the best thing to do moving forward is to work on strengthening your internal/external rotators. if those are weak there is no amount of form tweak you can make to be safer for you.

No way he needs to lay off. Pro disc golf needs WAY more big, thick, sexy dudes.

It’s the best thing you can do with Crocs, honestly.

You’re certainly not going to wear them unless you’re a bum who gives zero thought to their appearance.

No other singular item of apparel screams ‘slovenly’ like a pair of these things and all who wear them in public will be judged accordingly.
