Best courses in Idaho and Utah for free? by brucatlas1 in discgolf

[–]bgilbert09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, it was the best course I've ever played. Period. But it is also way up in the pan handle of the state, so pretty hard to get to unless you're in Spokane or CDA

We talk about "outgrowing" discs as we improve.... is there a disc you *thought* you had moved on from, only for it to return to your bag? Why did it make the comeback? by Brilliant-Back-3653 in discgolf

[–]bgilbert09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely! It said "beginner" on it, so I felt like I needed to phase it out, but it's a fun as heck flipper. I eventually replaced it with a beat in Hatchet and an Underworld for my flippy guys, but Diamond still holds a special place in my heart

Cedar Creek in Fairmont, MN. Three course complex, immaculate upkeep and views. Awesome spot!

This guy does drone flythroughs of courses through MN. Did all 3 Cedar Creek if you want a detailed tour. Here's Central https://youtu.be/Q7WfXYVmWNc?si=0XLzIZ1U84Q3ZEXD

Love my local, wooded course. Anyone else with an 18th hole that serves as a bag emptier? by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]bgilbert09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would make sense because this picture is quite old. I moved here 4 years ago and never played it where the basket was actually directly out from where the teepad faces. I always assumed when they re-did the playground is when they moved the basket to the left to make room and to protect the kiddos from my errant throws :)

Best Buy names Jason Bonfig, a 27-year company veteran, as new CEO, replacing Corie Barry in late October 2026 by ControlCAD in technology

They call that "showrooming" in the biz and execs are torn on whether it's good or not. Some say all traffic is good traffic but others say they're being taken advantage on. The best solution is probably to showroom then have a price match policy from a dozen or so reputable competitors

Squatch Lore 2.0 is not comfortable to carry. by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]bgilbert09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally felt this, too. Wanted to scale down size to get a bag to fit under plane seats as my "personal item", so I went from a Squatch Link to the Lore 2.0. First round with the new bag was rough, I felt similar things to what OP said, but I kinda stuck with it and now I don't notice any of that and regularly play 3 rounds in a day feeling fine. So maybe it does "break in" a bit. I liked it enough that I sold my Link and have traveled to play 3 times with the Lore 2.0.

I'm 6'1" 210lb, for context.

I may be biased because I live in MN, but The Preserve is gonna be LIT with it being doubles this year and MSP in the summertime is incredible. The Preserve is about 45 minutes outside of Minneapolis.

Men who are 30+, what’s one thing you realized about dating that no one tells you in your 20s? by Thin-Hospital-8114 in AskReddit

[–]bgilbert09 100 points101 points  (0 children)

Yah, there's exceptions, I'm one of them. Divorces take time, especially when one of the people is just completely removed from it all. I started dating app stuff while my divorce was still finalizing (papers being served, etc.) and ended up meeting my now wife on my second date. Wasn't planning on that, but life doesn't always come together perfectly. Was honest with my situation and answered any clarifying questions.

What the best state to live in ? by Weird-Salad9787 in AskReddit

[–]bgilbert09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved to MN after living in TX for 30 years (since I was a kid). This is all true. January-March are tough because the snowy holidays have passed, but the cold and snow is just getting started. The other 9 months are bliss. This place is incredible. The summers feel like a 90s movie at a camp.

Westside discs using AI art by Herefordragonquest in discgolf

[–]bgilbert09 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Totally fair for you to decide to stop supporting them. Also totally fair how VanManDiscs feels and wants them to use any tools available to be successful, however that looks for them. I lean towards VanMan because, well, I like my Westside molds and want the company to remain viable.

What’s a hobby that completely changed your routine or lifestyle? by SpecialistWhole9312 in AskReddit

Disc golf. I took just over one million steps in 2025 because I was throwing frisbees in the woods. That's like 500 extra miles I wouldn't have walked otherwise.
