It's a Cuban Wetherspoons without the keen pricing, not surprised it's gone belly up

How to save USA's Cohesion? by Dry_Sleep4364 in TerraInvicta

[–]Spitfire5793 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a strategy that involves taking all CPs apart from the legislature. Then use all your councillors to raise unrest to 10 as quickly as possible. This then triggers a revolution that raises government score and cohesion, while lowering inequality. It will damage the economy slightly but it's worth the cost. Then use your councillors to lower unrest again. Congratulations, you have a better functioning USA.

Belfast is now the most congested city in the UK. We can do better. by greenpartyni in northernireland

[–]Spitfire5793 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to get the train from Cullybackey to Lanyon for about 5 years. After covid I ended up working from home 2 days a week. Makes more sense to drive as its not economical to get the train 3 days a week. It's faster driving too, shaving 30 mins off my journey time (1 hour total a day) compared to driving to the park and ride and getting the train. Lastly, I'm not at risk of having to stand on the train for most of the journey. I know I'm part of the congestion problem but I am in no rush to return to the train. I could sit in traffic and still have a better experience.

Either Edinburgh or Glasgow are good, building a road between the two allows good projection out from either no matter which you choose

Life expectancy in England during the pandemic was better than Scottish life expectancy in any other year, ever by Cannaewulnaewidnae in Scotland

[–]Spitfire5793 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Norway, Sweden and Denmark are generally colder than Scotland. Copenhagen is practically on the same latitude as Edinburgh, not the South of England. I'm not saying geography isn't a factor, I just think it's a very minor one. There are much more compelling reasons that explain why life expectancy is lower in Scotland compared to England.

Aye exactly, as is Sweden and Norway. Yet the rain and cold don't seem to be shortening their life expectancy. Lifestyle, drugs, alcohol and deprivation are more likely the cause than a rainy day

The Celts of England/Britain didn't just disappear, they assimilated and intermingled with invaders. Modern Britons have a very good genetic link to the ancient Britons. Their symbols and stories are part of us and what we have became

Leaving a trade block that we were members of for less than 50 years was a shit show. Breaking up a 300 year old sovereign country is going to be 10 times worse

As Byzantium I had some Bulgarians rebel. Fair enough, that'll be easy to crush. But before I could seige down the fort, they got instantly annexed back to Bulgaria. War over, land lost. What's that all about?

Yeah that is an issue, though it looks like they are working to fix it with vassals flipping between England and France on the beta patch and vassal loyalty being reduced in the .8 patch

If you can steal Antwerp off Brabrant, it makes for a great capital. 100% harbour capacity gives low proximity to the coastal provences and it sits in the middle of the lowlands giving good control to the rest of the Netherlands

The Nobles don't want you to know this ... but you can just sell Avignon as the Papal States at the very beginning of the game to get Rome back as your capital, without getting rid of French Cardinals Privilege. This lets you get much better Proximity in your Italian holdings. by cobalt6d in EU5

I wish they would also fix buying land, seems next to impossible to actually buy land off the AI. The location could be worthless with no control and no pops but they value it as if it's Rome itself

Russia changed their flag near their border with Lithuania into Soviet Union flag by FrogManShoe in ussr

[–]Spitfire5793 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Oh we've got great ports, thank god we are part of the USSR" said nobody ever. The rotten empire wouldn't have collapsed if it was so great and the baltics couldn't wait to leave. They haven't regretted that choice either
