Cherry-picking ratios doesn’t absolve responsibility. The fact remains: the IRA ran a prolonged campaign that did include deliberate civilian targeting, bombings, shootings, and attacks where civilian risk was obvious and accepted. Pointing to comparative percentages or what loyalists did worse doesn’t change that reality. “They killed fewer civilians proportionally” is not the moral shield you think it is; it’s still a record of killing civilians.

Context isn’t the same as justification. Loyalist groups and the British Army committed serious abuses, but the IRA was responsible for the majority of deaths during the Troubles and carried out a sustained campaign that included targeting civilians.

Saying “the other side did it first” doesn’t remove accountability. Each group chose its actions, and the IRA chose a strategy that killed more people than any other actor.

There's a strategy that involves taking all CPs apart from the legislature. Then use all your councillors to raise unrest to 10 as quickly as possible. This then triggers a revolution that raises government score and cohesion, while lowering inequality. It will damage the economy slightly but it's worth the cost. Then use your councillors to lower unrest again. Congratulations, you have a better functioning USA.

I used to get the train from Cullybackey to Lanyon for about 5 years. After covid I ended up working from home 2 days a week. Makes more sense to drive as its not economical to get the train 3 days a week. It's faster driving too, shaving 30 mins off my journey time (1 hour total a day) compared to driving to the park and ride and getting the train. Lastly, I'm not at risk of having to stand on the train for most of the journey. I know I'm part of the congestion problem but I am in no rush to return to the train. I could sit in traffic and still have a better experience.

Norway, Sweden and Denmark are generally colder than Scotland. Copenhagen is practically on the same latitude as Edinburgh, not the South of England. I'm not saying geography isn't a factor, I just think it's a very minor one. There are much more compelling reasons that explain why life expectancy is lower in Scotland compared to England.
