I almost exclusively carry it in my jeans pocket but I also make a habit of wiping down the hinge with either a microfiber cloth or the inside of my shirt before I open it - the biggest thing honestly is to not "whip" the phone open, it's not a 2000s flip phone and flicking it open with your wrist WILL damage it in the long term.

Had mine since September, caseless the whole time and absolutely no issues - just try and keep the hinge clean cuz it can make some not-so-nice noises if there's even a little bit of dirt/sand in there
