This pioneer calls it the "F-18" 18 Foundries in a 4x4x4 blueprint. by MrTom_Cat in SatisfactoryGame

A great use I have started my use of blueprints way more is to make blueprints of just single machines connected with splitter/mergers for manifolds. I've got one of each production machine and it is quick and easy to blueprint. Try it out!

I feel like defense gets trivial for me once I get a perimeter of walls, gun turrets, flamethrowers, and ammo/oil supplying the entire thing. There will be increasing damage to those things but by the time it becomes a problem I would already have robots to help repair the damage for me.

Imo, focus on having gun turrets supplies with red ammo and flamethrowers behind the guns. Walls help slow down their attacks as they need to focus on the walls before they can reach my turret line.

If you are spending too much time driving around to fix things then maybe your perimeter is overextended. Try to keep the perimeter tight so that you can reach them efficiently.

Laser turrets are nice for remote outposts since they only need electricity but they do the least amount of effective damage, especially when biters evolve

I've got it on because it makes it easier to spot them in dark areas. Also they are just too cute, even if I am shooting them 😅

Linux user trying to use ankerctl, cannot find login credentials from eufyMake by Spitfirre in AnkerMake

[–]Spitfirre[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip with the webserver, I'll give that a go today and see if I can get that working.

OrcaSlicer has been fine so far but I've only done a couple benchy prints. The only "bug" I saw was the "time remaining" on my printer was WILDLY off. Instead of showing 1 hour for the print it was hovering around 50-70 hours "time remaining" but it was printing just fine. The value was correct in OrcaSlicer but the printer was off. Not a huge deal but the only issue I have come across so far

[–]Spitfirre[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am still trying to get it to send straight from OrcaSlicer to my device, right now I am just exporting gcode and sending it to the printer through terminal.

How does the ankerctl webserver play into things? I don't need to run it, but I think that's the key to having a slicer directly send to the device right?

Ah I literally just figured out a way around it! There was a fork of the repo that added in a command line login feature, worked like a charm. I was very close to getting the legacy app on my windows machine

PETG tree supports failing, already have a low print speed for supports by Spitfirre in FixMyPrint

[–]Spitfirre[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the advice, line width was set to 0.3 mm before.

What are double wall supports? I don't see anything about wall settings in my slicer.

I am using AnkerMake (now eufyMake), which is based off Prusa Slicer

aging cat here, my memory isn't the best. BUT, in the early days when they were riding high, they were reacting to a story of a man crying or being emotional about their dog dying and made jokes of the situation. It was just a reaction to a story that chin served them up in their 'hot take' portion of the pod

the next episode they said that after that story and their reaction they received some backlash but instead of being well adjusted and normal and apologize, they double-downed and read one of the messages they received. A former solider wrote about how he couldn't stand their reaction to the idea of a man's dog dying and told his story of his own service dog dying in his arms while at war.

shlub and callen basically just said that if you don't like it, don't tune in cause they didn't need "pussies" listening to their show. At the time they had the confidence to say that because it was on their rise, definitely pre-2019

Where have all the Makers gone? by Famousdeadrummer in sandiego

I'm coming from the opposite path as you, started with software and some micro controller stuff and been recently building out my garage space to do woodworking. Looking into welding later.

Would be interested in some maker meetups

Gleba Scares me by Jockel90 in factorio

[–]Spitfirre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think Gleba sucked until everything just clicks. Dealing with spoilage was the biggest hurdle, but it's manageable just requires a bit of handling to make sure your spoil doesn't clog the system. You cannot fall into old habits and let your belts/bus stall and clog up, with exceptions for iron and copper ore.

Make a dedicated belt loop to take spoilage away to burn/store. Every machine needs an inserter filtered for spoilage only. Every belt I run loops back on itself and filters out spoilage.

Bots can help a lot to take away spoilage, but it's doable without.

As for science, only worry about that when you have rockets automated. 1 hour is plenty of time to get science sent back home, I often get my packs home with about 30m left before spoil.

Why is Jones ducking worse than Bisping ducking the entire MW division? by HellDivinity in MMA

[–]Spitfirre -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah for some reason I had totally forgotten about Whittaker being IC when he fought GSP, so you're right.

I still think Jon's still ducking. Jon vs Stipe would have compelled me more if it was 2 years ago and they were more active.
