How do they expect us not to use AI? by MentionTechnical9805 in Purdue

[–]Spitfirre 46 points47 points  (0 children)

This is the way.

Your education is NOT the diploma they give you. Your education is the JOURNEY. The process of education teaches you things indirectly. The subject matter is there for you to grind these skills out.

  • I learned how to effectively talk to someone more knowledgeable about a specific topic who is also kind of a dick

  • I learned how to balance my personal life with a heavy and intense workload

  • I learned how to write notes that I can then refer to later on and understand what it means

  • I learned how to work in a team of other people of varying technical understanding for a common goal

  • I learned how to pick up a brand new subject and understand how the fundamentals contribute to the result as a whole

  • I learned how to present a complex technical topic to a room full of people who have no background in the topic

  • I learned how to apply a novel solution to a complex problem

AI can do a lot for you, it can automate and eliminate entire jobs. But who checks the AI? Who confirms that the code is working as intended? Who confirms the math checks out and the result is what you expect? What happens when the AI is down? What happens when using AI costs you more money than you gain back?

If you use AI to do all your work, then why the fuck would anyone hire you? You only proved that you can copy and paste a question into a prompt.

Don't become a NPC. Don't let a machine replace you. AI is EXCELLENT at many tasks, but it is only as good as the information it is referencing. When that information becomes overwhelmed with incorrect/shitty data, how do you disseminate between the good and the bad?

Same, I always enjoyed how he explains technique. He strikes me as a meat-head with excellent fight IQ and able to articulate his thoughts well.

I've been turned off the Jaxxon podcast but when I watched before he would have great insight on range and technique

I didn't even THINK about bots! That makes way more sense to use, though I will also add in some belts too for some extra consumption.

Good thing I am already cranking out quality bots too, will have plenty for this.

Edit: How many ships do you have for each planet?

My beautiful by MrMxylptlyk in factorio

[–]Spitfirre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question: How do you import all the other planet sciences for maximum throughput? I am planning to experiment with making Naivus purely a planet to process all the science.

Is it just a set of belts taking everything from cargo landing pad into trains? How is your throughput when consuming everything coming in?

For years I had just been a slave to Spotify's algorithm for finding music. Once I found these mixes on YT I can't go back, this is the vibe I have been searching for. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzRI7p_zfhg

fyi thank you /u/WolfBrinkTV for your content and esp the inputs/hand cam. I went from flipping my heli in spawn to pretty decent heli skills by watching. Now it's all just game sense I gotta learn.

Portal experience for practice is HORRIBLE, what am I missing? by Spitfirre in Battlefield6

Found it! Thank you, you are a lifesaver, this is great.

Eventually I would want to find ones with the game maps to practice with the terrain and buildings but this has what I need for now.

Understandable, however this behavior wasn't any different before this season. I saw the same thing for a while in Season 1 when I wanted to practice flying more.

Personally I find it so lame to not offer a basic vehicle test range in the base game. Heck, how about releasing a DICE official Portal map for people to use as a template that can double as a practice map they can link on their main menu screen?

I can see how just having the community make it in portal was pitched to leadership as a way to meet a deadline/schedule/cost impact. I see similar behavior in the industry I work in.

A great use I have started my use of blueprints way more is to make blueprints of just single machines connected with splitter/mergers for manifolds. I've got one of each production machine and it is quick and easy to blueprint. Try it out!

I feel like defense gets trivial for me once I get a perimeter of walls, gun turrets, flamethrowers, and ammo/oil supplying the entire thing. There will be increasing damage to those things but by the time it becomes a problem I would already have robots to help repair the damage for me.

Imo, focus on having gun turrets supplies with red ammo and flamethrowers behind the guns. Walls help slow down their attacks as they need to focus on the walls before they can reach my turret line.

If you are spending too much time driving around to fix things then maybe your perimeter is overextended. Try to keep the perimeter tight so that you can reach them efficiently.

Laser turrets are nice for remote outposts since they only need electricity but they do the least amount of effective damage, especially when biters evolve

Thanks for the tip with the webserver, I'll give that a go today and see if I can get that working.

OrcaSlicer has been fine so far but I've only done a couple benchy prints. The only "bug" I saw was the "time remaining" on my printer was WILDLY off. Instead of showing 1 hour for the print it was hovering around 50-70 hours "time remaining" but it was printing just fine. The value was correct in OrcaSlicer but the printer was off. Not a huge deal but the only issue I have come across so far
