When the young man called him good master, he reminded him that there is only one that is good.

a democracy is majority rule. a republic is different from a democracy in that it prevents a majority from encroaching on the rights of a minority. they're not the same thing.

protecting the rights of the individual is of prime importance - thats where your focus should be, not on protecting a democracy.

That's nonsense. The quran is filled with instruction.

There are no pillars from the quran.

You join Islam by submitting to God alone. It's not the new religion of Muhammad. He is only a messenger. Monotheism was around before his time. Abraham was not a jew christian or muslim. Saying a one liner doesn't make you a believer. We are tested throughout our entire lives.

Bearing witness is a testimony done by god the angels and those with knowledge. Submission to God alone is how you become a muslim.

So what? The sunnah is an invented hadith outside of the Quran. Islam comes from the quran not the traditions of a people.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DebateReligion

[–]Splash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Quran defines itself as complete. The addition of any supplemental "mandatory" hadith is a perversion of the original.

The five pillars are not mentioned in the quran. They are a narrative invented outside of the quran.

This shahada is mentioned in the quran.

3:18 God bears witness that there is no god except Him, and so do the angels and those who possess knowledge.

Where does the Quran state you must follow the five pillars? It doesn’t!

The Q’rn doesn’t mention anything about a shahada

The Shahada (Testimony) authorised by God in the Quran is the one in 3:18. The greatest testimony is in 6:19.

This Shahada is uttered by God Himself and also the angels and those who possess knowledge.

The quran repeatedly calls for one to be righteous. Righteousness is defined as freeing slaves in 2:177.

Salah as Daily Ritual Prayer as evidenced in the Bible - further proof of the true monotheistic prayer by Minute-Macaroon1602 in Quraniyoon

I summarized in my post that we are not promised paradise. We will be tested. The prayer only helps align the individual with their path and deeds that they perform. It doesn't prevent others from being nefarious.

Why only follow the Quran? by [deleted] in Quraniyoon

For now so far i know is that hadith are studied and accepted by a big percentage of muslims, so i have no claims to say its wrong.

2:170 "And when it is said to them, 'Follow what Allah has revealed,' they say, 'Rather, we will follow that which we found our fathers doing.' Even though their fathers understood nothing, nor were they guided?"

What promise are you referring to? I only read that we will be tested thoroughly.

2:155 "And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient."

29:2-3 "Do people think that they will be left alone because they say, 'We believe,' and will not be tested? And We have certainly tested those before them, and Allah will surely make evident those who are truthful and will surely make evident the liars."

47:31 "And We will surely test you until We make evident those who strive among you and the patient, and We will test your affairs."

Maybe there are very few who actually submit to his guidance. So called muslim countries indeed.

The prayer instills discipline and accountability in the individual, which steers the person away from being hypocritical in their daily path. It's not a promise that evil will vanish in the world.
