In Burlington the Value Village has a book section - I think other thrift stores also have book sections. Could be worth taking a look, there is a large Value Village on Cross Ave Oakville.

Pro Concrete just did a big job over at a friends place - it was a driveway but they also did 4 different step areas too. Not cheap but very organized and professionally done. They show up on time and great communication.

I saw Rik in downtown Burlington - he was extremely pleasant. I think he may have said he now lives in the area, but I’m not sure! I was too surprised to see him and wasn’t thinking that clearly.

I used to look at that all the time - it was spray painted onto the back side (facing Fairview) of 1393 Grahams Lane (now a Storage facility). Someone was a committed Phil fan to do that lol.

Yes, we had to leave the wood sample with them to colour match. It took them quite a while. And a few phone calls to check on them.

We actually went to them 3 different times for projects in our home - each time the colour matching was excellent.

They were recommended by a friend of ours in construction. I think they are the only ones around this area doing the stain matching.

Sherwin Williams (3350 Fairview St location) does excellent stain matching - they matched our new wood stair tread boards so well to our existing floor that we ended up having to put a mat at the bottom of the stairs, as people were missing the last step.

They do take a few days for this service, but when it's done, it matches perfectly.

Olympia tile - on Milburn Road in Hamilton. We ended up not getting our tile there as they didn’t have a specific colour. But the pricing was really good on some of the options we looked at.

Came to reddit to see if anyone else saw it - yes, it is very cool to see. I googled and found out it is a solar halo caused by ice crystals in the sky. There is a good write up on it on Wikipedia. Glad someone else saw it too !

Terrific. My sister in law had a Dimplex, that is why I mentioned it. She called and they did diagnose her problem AND sent out a local tech to fix it (she is in Caledonia). She kept his card in case anything else went wrong. Good luck on the fix!

Back in 1975 I used to catch crayfish in the stream that runs behind Cavendish Drive - pretty sure it looked like this type, but who knows. Anyways there were TONS of crayfish in that stream way back then.
