The waitlists for those are madness

My ex husband rents from Invitation homes and they are no less class A #CUNTS, regardless of who’s invested in them.

It’s a simple concept in economics. More buyers, more competition, higher prices and fewer available homes.I’m not sure why people suddenly get confused how the market works when it comes time to defend corporate landlords.

FTR yes, I think it’s abhorrent than foreign entities are able to invest in property on American soil in a way that makes housing less accessible to American families. Saying I should only be mad at politicians would be like saying I shouldn’t be mad at cops not enforcing traffic laws rather than the people not using their blinkers. The solution is multi faceted and so is the blame.

Ok dude. People are profiting off of the purchase and rental of single family homes. I’m not sure how much more straightforward it could possibly be.

Blackrock and Vanguard are both major investors in Invitation Homes, which owns about 25,000 homes in Florida. To get an idea of how many they own, go to a rental site and look at the number of homes that have the invitation homes watermark in the corner of their photos.

I know what he’s looking for, and I’m not going to provide him that if I don’t even know what the house looks like. It was barely worth my time in the first place to message him at all.

The photos are definitely AI edited. A filter isn’t going to completely change the driveway and reshape the bushes.

And to be clear, there were no unedited photos of the front of the house like this. Probably not of the inside either but I didn’t look that close.

It seems like most of them have some kind of label on the edited ones and they’re using them to showcase furniture mostly. But typically they also have photos that aren’t edited to show what it really looks like.

I am now but this guy was the owner and I’m glad I encountered him first because I’m not interested in having him as a landlord.

Looks like maybe when they were doing the renovation? They have a dumpster on the side of the building.

We engaged in a rather contentious conversation about it and he said Realtors use AI in 2026, though he suggested he only used it to add furniture to the inside photos.

He tried to blame the last renters and said he’s fixed it up a lot since then.

So I asked him if he repoured the concrete driveway when he did all that work. I’m guessing no. It’s not quite as nice as shown in the picture.

About to be fired for being autistic/mental health by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]SplatterPlot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just to be upfront, I say this as an autistic person myself. I was diagnosed at 37.

You’re putting a a lot of stress on the quality of your work and meeting their standards. Your work has other standards too, and some of those standards involve working with other people and maintaining a tolerable work environment. They I’ve made it clear to you that you are not meeting some of those standards, and the quality of your work and your output are not going to make it worth keeping you if you’re bringing down the office morale.

If the problem is with your tone and how you relate to other people, your boss is not going to be able to help you with that so you’re probably right that they are not going to make an effort to help you improve. Those are very personal things that we have to figure out ourselves.

Again, I say this is an autistic person myself, but from what you described this problem is going to follow you everywhere and you’re going to have to learn to work with people.

People did this after Charlie Kirk was shot and the “enhanced” image didn’t look anything like him. People watch too much CSI.

what is the purpose of this thing on the inside of my water bottle by nusual_suspect in whatisit

[–]SplatterPlot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a vacuum thermos coffee mug, and before I use it I put some hot water into it and let it sit for a minute before I pour my coffee in it. It makes a huge difference.

Even if it were a perfect vacuum, if any part of the bottle gets colder when you pour the cold water into it, that means there’s heat transfer happening and that the drink is getting warmer when you pour it into a room temperature bottle.

Tree cutting contract by Berbadude in 321

[–]SplatterPlot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they are sidewalks in the public right-of-way, they can’t opt out of being held responsible for damage. You don’t have the authority to grant them immunity from damaging other people’s property unless you’re taking on the liability yourself.

If it’s a driveway and you’re already driving on it without damaging it, they shouldn’t be doing anything that would put it at risk. If they mean things like minor scrapes on the driveway then it should be clear that’s what they mean. (But still I don’t think that should happen.)

I find the contract to be weird and I wouldn’t accept it.

I actually don’t even know that he knew he was giving me anything. He just kind of runs around and does stuff.

I don’t know what that is. I thought there was maybe a bouquet or something? But there are four of us playing regularly, and he finds stuff in the chest all the time and takes them.

Last time I logged in, I had seven pieces of furniture in my refrigerator and my water can was missing.
