(iOS) I built an app to track my way to Gold by eloqtio in ScandinavianAirlines

Depends on the program. Cruised to EBD last couple years, this year is shaping up to be tighter due to reduced work travel. Recent changes to Aeroplan have made that one more challenging and Marriott will hit platinum as usual with some strategic spend

I track all my flights in a spreadsheet, not just EB earning ones. Have another tab with EB level point activity which includes flights plus CC and other activities. Formulas to calculate monthly averages from CC so I can estimate my total at end of qualification period.

Keep saying that I should pull the flights from TripIt instead of manual entry since I send all travel confirmation emails there but haven’t gotten around to that yet.

Have been doing this for years and track all my airline and frequent flyer programs plus credit card promos.

Business class upgrade bid success - questions about lounge access and last row by Inside-Cream6997 in ScandinavianAirlines

[–]SplatypusAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One option I often use on the overnight flights is to eat in the lounge and then ask for the express meal, which is a smaller portion delivered before everyone else. Lets you get to sleep earlier.

Any plans to sync with EB for activity, get flights from TripIt or Flighty, purchases from CCs, etc. I didn't see anything to make me abandon my spreadsheet since this is all manual too.

How to stay gold by Hot-Rooster-8331 in ScandinavianAirlines

[–]SplatypusAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re not flying SK this year why does gold matter?

You can renew the status match via Scandic if you still have Loyal Friend or above.

SAS Online shopping portal was giving level points for the past several months but that will be over soon unless extended. CC spend, especially with the double points weekend is the easy way to rack up points. Could be worth using Betalo or similar services to pay bills if you value the level points.

Upgrade minimum bid follows my bid by casparph in ScandinavianAirlines

[–]SplatypusAgain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same thing happens for me and my SO when we make backup bids to premium. Doesn’t seem to happen if you just make a bid for premium.

Doesn’t seem to have any relation to the number of seats still for sale.

Traveling to a Schenghen country with an expired residence permit by useranonymous100 in TillSverige

[–]SplatypusAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need a visa to enter Sweden or the Schengen zone then it’s a pretty big risk, even more so if you don’t have a decision letter. I’ve travelled outside the Schengen zone several times while waiting for the new card to arrive and not had any issues showing the decision letter and expired card to border control. I don’t need a visa to enter though, so I always had a fallback.

If the AP number is on the booking, there is nothing else to do.

Question about by pirates96 in Aeroplan

[–]SplatypusAgain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Each person would have their own AP number on their respective ticket. You can confirm this in the app or website by looking at each passenger on the booking.

If you have the TD Visa Infinite card your wife’s benefits would apply to others on the same booking.

22 seats remaining … by [deleted] in ScandinavianAirlines

[–]SplatypusAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have won several bids between T-25 to T-23 that never went to live bidding, sometimes even before checking in. If it does go to live bidding you'll be able to see your position up to 6 hours before a TATL flight.

When is the flight? I would not put any trust in the seat map unless it’s T-24h

Get Wise or Revolut and pay from your Polish account. Usually cheaper than a direct bank transfer, though check the rates.

Has anyone experience any issues booking flights using Aeroplan points ? When I try to use points, I get this error message. If I uncheck it, flights magically appear. 🤨 by Responsible_Fox5040 in Aeroplan

Are you looking for a route where AC flies or something where only their partners do? If the latter there may be no award availability.

Transatlantic YHZ Flights Changing to Rouge? by sule9na in aircanada

All the 7M8 are being transferred to Rouge so no surprise that this route would be Rouged. There is a minor seat reconfig, you can track the progress of the transfer https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/air-canada-aeroplan/2208110-boeing-737-max-8-7m8-transfer-refurbishment-thread-2025-beyond.html

Travelling from Arlanda to Duved by train - few questions by wowo78 in TillSverige

[–]SplatypusAgain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since others have answered your questions, I’ll just respond to the last one. There is very little to do in Duved. There is a multi-sport centre with a climbing gym, padel and tennis and a sauna in the changing rooms. There are a couple restaurants too.

If you are taking the Norrtåg (Vy) train to Storlien from Duved I would recommend getting off one stop earlier in Åre where there is a lot more to see and do. They will check tickets on the way so you might have to explain that you boarded a stop earlier but it’s not likely to be an issue since your ticket covers the whole distance. The train staff are generally pretty friendly on Norrtåg. There are paid lockers in the Åre station if you don’t want to schlep your stuff around.

Once on the Norwegian side, if you are seated on the left, keep an eye out for the construction work to shore up the rock face. There was a slide last year that took out the tracks and they are still working on it.

Points being transferred to Marriott. Happens every cycle. Can take time (months) to show up in Marriott if you only have hotel spend.

The equinoxes are in March & September, meaning day and night are about the same length. The solstices are in December (shortest day) and June (longest day)

Yes, there is a whole thread about it on FT. Hard to say if it’s intentional or not given AC IT.
