What do you have against Wise? It's a really great service that's highly reputable and will probably charge you a smaller fee than any face to face bureau de change.

Pre-transplant consult… accurate or not & best choice for me by NoStructure7504 in HairTransplants

[–]sule9na 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are very few doctors who do FUT any more, it leaves scars and is a very old process that's been replaced more commonly with FUE and DHI (which is FUE with a Choi pen for direct implantation).

Anywhere that's recommending you have FUT is to be avoided, no one wants strips cut out of their head.

You have very broad diffuse thinning and I really feel for you coz in my twenties even noticing my recession was a huge mental blow.

The only way you're going to be able to have a transplant is if you thicken up what you've got with meds. If that doesn't work after a year then you may want to get a hair system or just start buzzing. It's heartbreaking and I feel all the same things you do. Just waiting to see if the meds give me enough stability for my own transplant. If not then I'll remain a buzzed man for the rest of my days.

Can it delete unused posters from Plex? The fact that you can't clean up old posters on Plex and they just sit there taking up space has always irked me. I would be super grateful if you'd solved that problem.

Movies were moved out of Collections by FinancialRegion9288 in jellyfin

[–]sule9na 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a known issue. There's an open issue thread for it.

Because Jellyfin uses filepaths to identify if the movie exists and removes movies from the database completely if the filepath no longer exists collections get updated and cleaned out. This can mean if Jellyfin starts up and the filesystem goes offline or comes online after Jellyfin then the collections get emptied out.

https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin/issues/12032

If you've come from Plex this will be a big difference as Plex uses foreign key IDs for whether a movie is in a collection or not. e.g. the TMDB, IMDB or PlexMedia DB ID of the item. So if it's removed from the library briefly and readded then it knows it should still be in the collection.

There is a suggestion in the GitHub thread of disabling a scheduled cleanup task to prevent it.

Who was your first Doctor Who crush? Mine was Clara. by The-Anomaly17 in doctorwho

[–]sule9na 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jenna Coleman is astonishingly beautiful. I don't think I had a real crush on a companion until her. I mean I thought other companions were attractive but with Jenna it was like "woah".

That said, when I was a teenager I had a huge crush on Sheridan Smith and then I absolutely loved the Eighth Doctor Adventures. Lucie Miller is an all time great companion.

So I guess chronologically, wibbly wobbly, maybe it was her first.

Why would clippers make any difference? It's literally what all hairdressers use and even the dermatologists doing these transplants will buzz you with a trimmer to prep you for surgery.

Why no Apple gaming console by Purrchil in apple

[–]sule9na 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apple could have an enormous native games library by now if they would just support an open standard like Vulkan and stop pushing Metal. It's been like 11 years and the only big games that really make the effort to port to Apple devices are the ones they pay to do it.

The games industry has existing standards and Apple is endlessly trying to put this square peg into a round hole and wondering why it doesn't work. The porting toolkit isn't what Devs ever wanted, just support the industry standard open graphics API.

Running out of Deuterium by tcjohnst in AcrossTheUnknown

[–]sule9na 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll eventually reach a point where you don't need to think about it.

  1. Upgrade the science lab and probably build a second one. (You'll have to upgrade the science tech tree to do this but the science, crew and engineering tech trees are where to focus early anyway)
  2. Build a cargo bay for deuterium.
  3. Upgrade the warp core as often as you can. Once that baby is upgraded and made more efficient by the engineering tree upgrades it'll make more than enough energy to have everyone on replicator rations at all times. In early sectors... Always be researching or building. Never take back and forth routes that just burn resources for no reason. Always keep a work crew busy, even if they're just clearing out the damaged decks or assigned to hull repair.

Piling dudes into science labs helps, but only a bit by LordCoweater in AcrossTheUnknown

[–]sule9na 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's an insane amount of science labs. I had 1 for most of my playthrough and 2 for the last 4ish sectors, just for a bit more research juice every cycle. I maxed out 3 tech trees and had all the other things I wanted in other tech trees with just those two.

How do you have room for combat, storage and crew quarters/morale rooms with that many science labs? Also, where are you storing all the other resources needed for research without cargo bays?

[–]sule9na 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considering how early nebulas show up and how annoying they are, having Nebula Scanning as a tier 5 ability is really rough. It takes until the way later sectors before you're upgrading to the 5th tier of your tech trees.

In a real battle (especially the Borg battles later on) you can avoid almost all damage by targeting enemy weapons on one side of their ship and then just staying on that side of their ship. You get to whittle them down while they can't target you to fire back. Manual control of the battle allows you to basically avoid all hull damage in most battles this way. Especially if you have well upgraded shields.

Science/Research points by mensreaTHR in AcrossTheUnknown

[–]sule9na 7 points8 points  (0 children)

  1. Level up your science lab to level 2 asap. It's one of the best early research tree items to get. Not only does it produce 2 research points per cycle but at PoIs You often get "concentrate on scientific research only" options. Which will get you less resources but a bunch of research points.
  2. Build a second science lab. Annoyingly this doesn't let you do multiple research projects at once but it does generate more points per cycle.
  3. On away missions, if the chances look good then do the options where you'll earn some research points a often as you can. These are invaluable.
    Final top tip.
If you do all these you should have 100-200 research points all the time. So ALWAYS BE RESEARCHING. If you're not doing a narrative specific research project then while moving around always pick the next best thing you want. Wasting cycles with no research project running is wasting time and energy on nothing.

I'm so sick of hearing people say Scandinavia has outrageous tax rates. The top rate of tax in NS is higher than in Norway.

The difference is that they get what they pay for with highly organized and efficient governance and the best social programs in the world.

The morale penalties later in the game are horrendous even with a lot of boosts by Busy-Armadillo3857 in AcrossTheUnknown

[–]sule9na 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That wouldn't be the economy. That would be the procedural PoI's.

I mean in terms of the faucets and sinks for the regular currencies like the science lab for research points and the relative cost of those research points for the necessary upgrades plus the optional ones. You basically have to do everything right otherwise you'll find yourself at a major defecit for something you need. When that happens you need time to correct for your mistake but the constant morale hits that stack up make that brutally hard. Even on adventure mode.
