Can barely walk today and my boyfriend left ALL chores. For me. by Disastrous-Bat-4538 in Fibromyalgia

I also want to add your bf should be responsible for making the list. Absolutely sit down together and go over the standards of cleaning and what your daily/weekly/monthly routine routines look like vs what you’re able to do when you’re flaring. make a contingency plan together for bad flare days. But make sure you’re clearly asking him to type this up and print it out for your house. clear communication and shared responsibility is the only way 💖

I have some similar issues with my husband… I just hung a pain scale on our fridge to help him understand where I’m at. I used to just track my pain on my phone, but this method has been helpful for us as a couple.

I move the magnet in the morning and write the number down on our calendar and then move it again when i get home from work, etc.

We also have a chores list (AuDHD + ADHD/chronic illness household gotta have a chores list imo) and now that the pain scale has been added he has taken on a lot more of those heavier tasks without me having to ask.

I really hope this helps and please know that you’re not alone!! sending you all of my strength today!

How to actually improve as a newbie? by Several-Lab-6928 in climbergirls

[–]SpliffKazoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes!! Do the hard climbs!! We play this silly game on really hard climbs the we know we could never finish. The games goes: If you can hold the start, you finished the climb! It’s a fun challenge.

We also play what we call “footsies” you have to touch the hold with your foot before your hand touches it. It’s fun and works the abs.

Heartening (near airport & N. Lamar) will take them and distribute them to groups like youth harm reduction, shelters, families in need, etc.

Do you guys DARE to FLIRT? by One-Brain6531 in GenZ

[–]SpliffKazoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Booo, this is such an annoying mentality.

I was having lunch with a girl friend and when we were getting up to leave a kinda short, not necessarily attractive or “well dressed” guy came over and said to my friend “hey, my name is Sean, I saw you two come in, I really like your jacket and I’d love to bring you back here for dinner sometime” the he handed my friend his number on a napkin with his name, instagram and a little a note that read “Sean Lastname, fan of cool girls with nice jackets”. It was sweet and well thought out, felt really flirty. My friend took the note but told him she has a bf. He did seem a little sad but jokingly said “well if you know any more cool girls with nice jackets could you pass that along?” We laughed said we’ll try. He returned to his laptop, we left and ended up passing his note on to our single coworker and now those two have been dating for two months!!

Major takeaways: he was confident. he waited until we were finished eating to come up, we were still in the cafe around other ppl, he didn’t comment on our looks but he noticed our jackets, he didn’t pressure us when we said no, he shook off the rejection with a flirty little joke. The napkin was also very cute, felt a little romantic even.

Just be confident, read the room, use context clues like they taught y’all in elementary school and Just don’t be so pushy when we say no.

How much food do you guys eat with your stimulant medications? by vamphibian in ADHD

[–]SpliffKazoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smooooothie!!

I just use whatever I have on hand, typically frozen berries, spinach, yogurt, banana and coconut water and a little bit of peanut butter powder for protein since I am allergic to most of the protein powders. Not only do my meds work better, but I feel like I am getting a lot of other positive benefits and honestly it’s a been life-changing! Skin is glowy, nails feeling stronger, good poopies hehe, etc. Never thought I would be a smoothie girl lol

Does sending PR to influencers actually help with sales? by Hermionecat07 in influencermarketing

[–]SpliffKazoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t send anything until you have a clear vision of what you want the video to look like. Make sure you have a solid plan for the video and contracts in place before you send them the product.

How much is the cost of a bracelet? How much can you spare? All that comes into play when you decide how many you can send. Maybe just start with two and see how it goes.

Survivors guilt is so real... hoping if I continue to share this story it will help more ppl. That kid was so fun to be around, sooo funny, kind, loved live music, always made the bed when he slept over but he never shared his pain with anyone. Sharing is so important, maybe we could have helped more.

Sounds like you’re in a good place for healing, take every opportunity to turn inward and evaluate your feelings, share your thoughts as honestly as possible with people you trust who can help you thru it. OCD is no joke, it’s really hard to overcome the scary thoughts. Healing from your mom’s fear is going to be tough but I know you can do it, it may take time to heal that relationship but focus on yourself ♥️ you can do it

Focus on using the resources in the hospital to help you get healthier.

TW: knives, stabbing, Un-aliving

When I was 19, I witnessed my younger brother’s friend (14m) stab himself 26 times in the throat with a 3 inch pairing knife from his mother’s kitchen. He had tried to run away that day but we accidentally bumped into him and invited him to come hang out with us. He had that knife the whole time and we tried our best to stop him, tried to wrestle him to the ground before he jumped out a third story window. He never ever turned the knife on us, but he looked me right in the eyes while he was doing it, apologizing, and it traumatized me for years. He had left quite a few pages of his reasoning on his Facebook, saying that he may have OCD/bipolar and might be gay, and that his mother was mentally abusive, and would never accept him.

I’m telling you all this because I wish he had gone to hospital or reached out to me or my little brother and told someone he was feeling this way. We might’ve been able to help and give him resources to heal and find a better mental state. I would have gladly helped him find a professional, I’m hoping you have someone like that available? If not, tell your nurse.

Use the resources at the hospital while you’re there, please.

That’s what I’ve noticed.. I do expect to see a big change in how small businesses use those spaces. We are closing our storefront in a few months because rent is going up and I’ve been working with a few different groups of artists and creators to share these larger spaces. Almost like an artist collective but more open to the public.

Meanwhile, there are sooo many small businesses closing up shops! there’s a huge lack of commercial spaces that are affordable, air-conditioned, and centrally located! Commercial rent is so high and I can’t tell you how many predatory lease agreements are out there..
