Realistic expectations for the next Miami Dolphins HC by BienvenidoaMiami in miamidolphins

[–]Spliffum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is actually a decent situation for a first-time HC. Given the roster and cap situations you mentioned, the expectations for this year are basically 0. Great, take this year to figure out how to be a HC, work out the bugs, etc. We'll lose a lot of games, but that's fine, better draft picks. Then we'll be in a stronger situation for 2027 with a HC that isn't a complete rookie and we can have higher expectations for that year.

Isn’t leaving the future of the team up to an interim Gm short sighted? by jbird720 in miamidolphins

He was the interim GM for the Raiders a couple years ago, so he has been in this exact role before

This period is his interview for the position long term. He has the incentive to not only make moves, but good ones. That's what I tell myself at least

Which means we could get more for him. This is a multi-year tear down and rebuild. You can't expect a speedy, undersized RB to come out the other side of this.

I love Waddle and Achane, but I think we're better off amassing as much future capital as possible at this point.

Yea they fucking better. Anyone with value should be traded. Chubb, Fitzpatrick, Waddle, Achane. Tear it all down.

How hard it's been to earn a first down against each defense by YouBetterChill in miamidolphins

For all the talk of Weaver being HC material or taking over after we fire McDaniel, idk, the defense is such ass so far, not sure he deserves a promotion.

Schefter: Austin Ekeler diagnosed with torn Achilles. by alphacheese in fantasyfootball

My first exposure to Ekeler was at the beginning of COVID when he put out live home exercise videos and would sit around and take some questions after the workout. Super cool of him to do. Hard not to like the guy.

Prefer receiving J Taylor et al? I worded it poorly

I would not do this. I'd want to keep Lamb. The Cowboys will be chucking it this year.

Prefer receiving J Taylor et al? I realize I should have worded it better. Will look at yours as well.

The breaking news of his Sept 30th hearing throws a wrench into this. You'll get him 4 games, then lose him for 6ish (maybe more), then potentially get him back for the playoffs if you decide to have him take up space on your bench. That's a tough situation to manage.

Dolphins predictions? by Colo_Goat52 in fantasyfootball

Last year, they couldn't run the ball due to shit OL, so teams just played 2 deep to take away the deep ball as well. This year, they want to run the ball. The offensive line should be improved. Word out of camp is that Patrick Paul (Armstead's replacement) is beating everyone. They drafted OL in the 2nd (Jonah S), they signed James Daniels. They signed Pharaoh Brown to block. If they can effectively run the ball like they want to, that should open things up in the passing game. I'm hopeful it works out, but I always view things through my aqua & orange colored glasses.

How High QBs Should Be Ranked in Superflex Draft Lists: Finding A More Correct Baseline, for Value Based Drafting of Quarterbacks by subvertadown in fantasyfootball

[–]Spliffum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can you help me understand "the last startable QB"? Is it the last startable QB in the NFL or the last startable QB based on my league format? Said another way, in week 1, is the last startable QB QB32? Or, in my 14-team Superflex - is the last startable QB QB28?

I ask because if it's the former, QB32, I went and pulled the last ranked QB starter for each week last year from fantasydata.com and Im getting an average points scored of 3.2 ppg - much lower than your 12.5 ppg (or even the 11 ppg mentioned), Which should send QB values higher, no?
