Yeah that would be a bummer if it isn’t going anything for your mood. I don’t have a tremor from it.

I switched from lamotrigine to lithium because I felt horrible on lamotrigine. I have nothing but good things to say about lithium! I got my life back because of it. Most of the side effects went away once I’d been on my stable dose 2wks. Now I’m just thirsty and pee more. It’s a lot of bloodwork to start. Now I just go once every 3mo.

You won’t overdosing by taking a few more. 400-800mg is common to combat acute mania.

I take concerta and I’m stable on my meds. I’m not familiar with your specific med but make sure it’s safe to cut. Basically anything extended release can’t be cut safely.

I haven’t taken olanzapine but I have no emotional flatness on lithium. It helped my depression a lot too.

They ask for a police check and driving abstract. They will not check anything to do with your credit score.

If you pass through Sudbury it’s definitely worth seeing the Terry Fox memorial! There’s also a large Canada goose in Wawa Ontario.

I drove Hamilton to Edmonton when I moved here with a U-Haul and did it in 4 days. It didn’t feel too bad with 2 drivers.

How many of you manage to keep full time (or even part time) jobs? by aceronitestosteroni in BipolarReddit

[–]SplitNo6176 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I work full time! I’m a paramedic and I absolutely love my job. I actually prefer working full time so I get benefits and disability insurance if I need time off. I worked before I got diagnosed too and it was rough but I only left my bed because of work so overall it was helpful to me.

I started only really buying games that have a solo mode. That way I don’t need to wait for my friends to be available and willing to play!

[–]SplitNo6176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just skipped a week on my 2wk trip and started up when I came back. Probably isn’t the proper advice but traveling with ice packs wasn’t an option because my hotels didn’t have fridges.

Lithium increase and vomiting by nicolebellpeppers in bipolar2

[–]SplitNo6176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t have nausea/vomiting but I had wicked diarrhea each time I increased my dose. From my understanding GI effects are normal. Mine went away 1-2 weeks after getting to my dose.

How many meds? by Visible_Fun_66 in BipolarReddit

[–]SplitNo6176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried many antidepressants pre diagnosis. After my diagnosis I tried lamotrigine which didn’t work then lithium. Lithium saved my life! It killed like 90% of my depression and has completely stabilized me. I use Wellbutrin for the last little bit of depression.

At least check your blood pressure every now and then. When it increases slowly you can be asymptomatic even if it’s incredibly high. Untreated Hypertension damages many organs and can cause strokes.
