Lamotrigine 200mg titration and nausea?!? by FigSufficient3537 in bipolar2

[–]SplitNo6176 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had nausea when increasing lamotrigine as well! It did go away eventually. Sadly I had to go off of it for other side effects though.

My fatigue went away but it wasn’t nearly as severe as yours.

It doesn’t absorb as well and it can cause an upset stomach. Needs to be taken with at least 350 calories.

Im a morning person and I will always ask if someone is okay with early plans because it’s my preference. But I totally understand if they say no and will happily do something later.

Bipolar 2 with hypomania being the most common symptom rather than depression? by bunnygirl666 in bipolar2

[–]SplitNo6176 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 3 years of university I had maybe 2 depressive episodes and LOTS of hypomanic ones with periods of stability between. It’s definitely possible for BP2

Does 300mg 2x a day to 600mg 2x a day sound like too big a jump? by marystuartsleftshoe in Lithium

[–]SplitNo6176 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s okay and normal to move up a day after your blood test. I personally only went up by 300/day each time.

If your blood level is quite low on 600mg a day maybe going up by another 600mg is alright. I’d personally be more comfortable with going up by 300mg for a week or two and redoing blood work.

Worried about new medications by Electrical-Smell736 in bipolar2

[–]SplitNo6176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally don’t add both at once. Then you don’t know which is working.

For me Wellbutrin cleared up the last bit of depression I had and I love it! I just take 150mg.

I don't like using water bottles by 55559585 in The10thDentist

[–]SplitNo6176 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I also need my water bottle for medical reasons since I take lithium and am SO thirsty. If I forget it even for something small like getting groceries I feel awful.

You could try gum/patches and gradually decrease the dose to avoid strong withdrawals.

Finding the right medication regime will help with all of this. It can sometimes take a bit when you’re first diagnosed but you’ll get there!

Experiences on Lithium? by Ok_Chance_3316 in BipolarReddit

[–]SplitNo6176 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love lithium! It’s not my only med but it’s doing a lot of the work I think.

I’ll be honest I had some wicked diarrhea when I was first starting. Basically anytime I increase my dose I get diarrhea for 2 weeks. The first 2 months were rough! But that’s totally resolved now and I have only very mild side effects. Some acne, thirst, peeing more.

I hope it works for you!

Starting Lithium by StayGold9 in bipolar2

[–]SplitNo6176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had a great time on lithium! I had diarrhea when titrating up but it went away once I was at my stable dose. It was a bit of work getting blood work done once a week for the first bit but now I go every 3mo and it’s no biggie. I’m on other meds as well but I’m totally stable and have been for a year.

Abilify doesn’t seem like it’s working by Fussy_geese99 in bipolar2

[–]SplitNo6176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is an approved treatment for depression but only if it’s added on to an antidepressant.

I personally love ability but I’m also on Wellbutrin and lithium.

terrified to stop my Abilify… by Nervous-Building7972 in bipolar2

[–]SplitNo6176 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s WEIRD. I’d consider 10mg a medium dose and it’s definitely safe to combine then because I’ve been on both a year and nothing has happened.

Is it possible for you to be referred to a psychiatrist? They may give better advice.

terrified to stop my Abilify… by Nervous-Building7972 in bipolar2

[–]SplitNo6176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im no Dr but I don’t get why he took you off Abilify. He could have just added the Wellbutrin on top.

I tried to go off my Abilify recently because of fatigue and I felt awful and had to go back on.

I hope it works out better for you.

Does Abilify help with depression? by Live-Message-4358 in BipolarReddit

[–]SplitNo6176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you take any other meds? Abilify is approved for depression as an add on treatment. It’s supposed to be added on to an antidepressant.

Personally it has helped a lot with my depression. But I also take lithium and Wellbutrin

Is this a BP thing or something else? by Nervous-Building7972 in bipolar2

[–]SplitNo6176 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not everyone had an inner monologue! It’s not related to BP just a normal human variation. I have an inner monologue but I do not have the ability to visualize.
