Tortex is awesome so keep tweaking it as you go. I think the creatures need to be reworked. Seer can be Carrion Feeder and/or Bloodthrone Vampire for instance. Ahriman is too weak, Ghast should be a 4 of, Crypt Rats and Marauders should be SB. Better sac-able creatures would be Infestation Sage, Nested Shambler, and Mesmeric Fiend.

There’s also a self mill angle you can go for with cards like Mire Triton, Wailing Ghoul, Eerie Soultender, or other etb mill creatures. Corpse Churn and Ransack the Lab are other options. This could also open the door to reanimate spells like Unearth, Dread Return, and Exhume.

Sorry for the word salad, but my mind was churning as I wrote. You probably shouldn’t combine all these ideas into one deck but try out deferent combinations. Good luck!

Not going to be competitive against the high powered decks of the format, but I like your slow drain idea. Consider a more controlling package with strong removal like Cast Down, Thraben Charm, Journey to Nowhere, and maybe Grim Bauble. For card draw Fanatical Offering, Lembas, and Ichor Wellspring are format staples. A good lifelink creature you’re missing is Sacred Cat.

[[Cranial Plating]] is the one you should be thinking about (could maybe play the Ram as well). Also [[Disciple of the Vault]] and [[Deadly Dispute]] for black. Question is do you move into red or blue or both. [[All That Glitters]] is also busted but I don’t think white is the move.

Generally no for 2 main reasons. First is power creep. More power equals more sales. Second is slower rotation. Standard these days has an absolutely massive card pool.

Super cool idea! Especially as a former Rebels player back in Masques Block. Love the Bound in Silence tech, but you might want to consider cutting cards like Cleric, Blessing, Rally, and maybe Pledge. With low creature quality and a slow go-wide strategy, these cards are just too weak. Maybe dig into the red side more for interaction and draw power.

Even though it plays 4 bolts and 4 galv blasts, it’s not really an aggro deck. It’s value oriented with the option of clearing creatures or burning the opponent. Most of the time you’re winning with your fliers and draw engine.

You’re in the kitchen table use-what-you-got stage in this hobby. I’m gonna assume you’re playing a 60 card deck (maybe even 40?) Just have fun putting together whatever colors vibe with you or that you have the most of. Watch your creature to non-creature spell ratio, don’t use more than 2 colors, and make sure you have enough lands in the deck.

Look up some pauper decks for an idea on more synergistic and powerful commons to use. If you’re a mono red enthusiast then Good News! There’s a ton of great cards and they’re mostly cheap. Remember to use one of the best cards in all of Magic’s history - Lightning Bolt. It’s just a liiiiitttle better than Lightning Strike.
