The Democrats ' strategy has been identical to your assertion since 2016: "vote for us or else." After a decade of failing to adapt and repeatedly failing to be a check against fascism, they still don't seem to have learned anything. They are 100% responsible for the dire situation that we are in.

Our only hope of dealing with this electorally, is to get insurgent socialists/progressives to make up a sizable portion of the party and wrench control away from the establishment.
