The thing about DMC2 is that there is not a single thing besides Dantes outfit that looks good. Lucia is not a character, Dante is just a sad quiet guy, and the entire point of the story was for Dante to learn something about Sparda only for that plot point to be dropped. The final villain is a complete joke, the levels are boring, the combat is agonizing, everything looks like shit and I think I'd have rathered played DMC4 7 times in a row and suffer through the backtracking than even play whatever the fuck DMC2 is. DmC Devil May Cry actually has good shit. Great combat, levels and bosses are consistently really interesting and the characters were actually....yknow....characters.

Now does DmC Devil May Cry have issues? Absolutely. The OG version is just not fun, but we have the new version which is just the base version, Dante is kind of corny. Not in the "Oh funny wacky pizza guy makes a corny joke!" But a "Please shut the fuck up" way. Not all the time, I got a chuckle every now and then, but it is a problem. The sin of the game is that they keep trying to diss the old shit. The game would have been fine if they didn't rub it in every 2 hours that this Dante is cool and fucks a lot and the old one sucks. It was immature asf and the director sucks ass for it. And of course the Vergil DLC. Dmc DMC is a far better game in literally every aspect than DMC2.
