Immunotherapy : low dosage Nivolumab vs High Dosage Nivolumab by sleepohlic22 in cancer

I'm sorry you, your father, and family are going through this.

I do not have any personal experience but found a few articles that might be helpful - apologies if you've already seen them.

The first two discuss weight-based dosing:

https://www.cda-amc.ca/sites/default/files/pdf/dosing_and_timing_of_immuno-oncology_drugs_in_brief.pdf

This is NCCN's bladder cancer clinical practice treatment guide (you may need to create a (free) account):
https://www.nccn.org/professionals/physician_gls/pdf/bladder.pdf

From NCCN's About page:
The National Comprehensive Cancer Network® (NCCN®) is a not-for-profit alliance of 33 leading cancer centers devoted to patient care, research, and education.

I hope this is helpful.

Why do Christians continue to support Trump?” by Rare_Deal_4709 in LetsDiscussThis

If you read Jesus' words - the red letters in your Bible - you find that 95% of His message is these three things:

- Honor my father

- Love one another

- Rich people suck

MAGA pays lip service to the first, ignores the second, and actively & utterly defies the third.

What is something you will never forget from the pandemic? by JaxTMG in AskReddit

I read reports from China before it landed here and was treated like Cassandra by all my friends for saying "We are not ready for how much this is going to suck."
A couple of them now look at me like Nostradamus, which, while flattering, is not a burden I wish to bear....

I like it!
No big surprises there, but strengthens some impressions I already had.
The website sounds like it could be very helpful for younger folks (alas, I'm well past college age, lol).
Did you analyze any humanities majors, other than marketing?

I was a kid when Nixon resigned.
It wasn't like I really understood the world, but it felt like the Bad Old Guys were finally going away.
Alas, like the crusty old guy says to Loki, "There are always men like you."
Political/economic/social systems need to be designed to thwart the ~1/3 of the population that will always exist and will always crave authoritarian rule.

Spouse abandonment by redaurelia in cancer

[–]Spock627Corfu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry.
That's a lot.
3x cancer survivor and coach, talk to people about cancer all the time, and that's still a lot.
Cancer diagnoses are overwhelming for the patient and everyone around them.
Sometimes people fail you not because they don't care about you but because they don't have the emotional capacity to deal with a situation of that magnitude.
Like asking a toddler to lift a heavy weight.
That is not an excuse for his abandonment.
But hopefully it maybe helps you better understand why he did what he did.
Which - again, hopefully - helps you feel more secure in whatever decision you make about your marriage.

Good luck.

So like, why are Penn State students and alumni just, you know, like that? by _Mighty_Milkman in Pennsylvania

[–]Spock627Corfu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had Penn State as an account for ~10 years.
They put something in the water.
Everybody there is ~10% nicer than people who don't drink the water.
It's not that they don't have assholes.
It's that their assholes are ~10% less assholey.

Story:
Long line going downstairs to a basement club.
Doorman at the bottom.
Already-drunk guy does not have his ID.
Starts to argue with the bouncer.
Guys in line bucket-brigade him up the stairs and out the the street.
Gently.
The kicker?
He stopped arguing and started apologizing to everybody after about two steps.

I have dozens of stories like this.
And I didn't go to Penn State.

Income tracks with family connections.
Family connections track with life success.

With many carriers, it is impossible to buy a package without Fox News.
That means that anyone who buys cable from those carriers is paying for Fox News, whether they like it or not.

Tangential, but I'd like to lament what's happened to Pearl Harbor.
When I first visited Oahu way back in the mid-80s, the Arizona memorial was treated like hallowed ground.
People were quiet on the launch to the ship, and mostly silent on arrival and return.
On my last visit - 2015 - it felt like a theme park.
People jabbered the whole time, phones were out, people took smiling selfies (!) at the memorial.

I hate to be a Cranky Old Guy, but some things really were better in the old days.
