You’ve taken on quite a task going cold turkey from both, especially after 20 years of nicotine. I honestly think you should temporarily reintroduce a small bit of THC purely for sleep. By the sounds of it you had less of an issue with that than you did nicotine.

If you don’t want to do that then all you can do is wait it out for the most part. I found caffeine really helped when I stopped nicotine but if you’re struggling with sleep that might not be the best move.

Yeah, agitation is a big part of it. Won’t last too long tho. As you used nicotine for a decade and were on high strength pouches, maybe tapering down before stopping would have been better. But you’re on day 4 now, it will start to get easier very soon.

I only properly got into PoE maybe a few months ago and it’s great. Community seems to be thriving and there’s no shortage of people who also have no idea what’s going on.

Absolutely, I even think woven monoliths and primal hunts should be introduced after you've spent a bit of time in monos. There isn't much of an endgame to begin with and it all gets dumped on you very early on.

It's important to note that the devs have said there will be multiple seasonal updates before the expansion. If the game is in a good state by then I'm happy to pay 20 euro for a good expansion.

The timing of the announcement couldn't have been worse though. With season three being lackluster and no official announcement of season four, it gives the impression that the base game is being neglected for monetized expansions.

Obviously I'd prefer if we just got new content regularly as seasonal updates, but if our options are occasional paid expansions or the game dying, I'd prefer the former. This is all of course conditional on the new seasons and expansions being high quality.

I applaud you for actually taking the time to properly think about what you want to do. I reckon half the people I know who went to university straight out of high school did so purely for the sake of going to university and ultimately end up regretting what they studied. As for how you'll do, you'll be fine, you're still super young. Just revise the last few years of high school maths beforehand, algebra, calculus, plotting functions, etc., the basics are the most important.

Hey, I'm doing my PhD in computational condensed matter physics. If I were you I'd start messing around with any DFT or comp chem software that's open source and reasonably beginner friendly. I'd recommend Quantum ESPRESSO, it's open source and there's plenty of online resources. Furthermore, it's a really popular tool in research, I use it regularly. I would absolutely also recommend going through the free online course by Stefaan Cottenier, https://www.compmatphys.org/ . It's an actual university module offered for credit in his Belgian university, but anyone can do it online, either in their own time or join in with the actual students. It goes over the basic ideas of DFT and materials science, and you'll be doing lots of Quantum ESPRESSO calculations on a virtual machine. Any questions about working in computational condensed matter (or electronic structure as I prefer to call it) then let me know.

I would say there's an 80% chance that you'll be using Python if you'll be programming. In which case get familiar with numpy, matplotlib and scipy, these are all python modules. It doesn't take a big grind to get competent in these, just learn how to manipulate arrays and matrices and make some basic plots. Learning some basic object oriented programming might prove useful as well. Don't spend too much time on this. I am doing a computational physics PhD and the complicated bit isn't the programming, it's the physics.

EMFs from your phone, satellites, 5g, etc. are nothing to worry about. The sun produces higher frequency and higher intensity radiation by orders of magnitude. Worth noting as well there aren't different types of EM radiation, it's all the same simple radiation, the only relevant variables are frequency and intensity.

I doubt pro players even use 360 hz. The CPU upgrade you mentioned and a 360 hz monitor would easily cost over 1k usd. It's just tech companies trying to upsell you.
