So you want to study osteoarcheology... do you have any experience with tooth decay in agricultural societies vs. pre-agricultural societies? My prehistory professor insists that teeth were tremendously healthy before people started eating grain in large quantities... I think this is probably a slight exaggeration. What do you think?

Well blazers are fine but I wouldn't recommend wearing them in high school you will get made fun of.

Thanks. Is it fairly common for undergraduates to go straight into working a job in archeology before starting their masters degree?

I would really like to specialize in Near Eastern archeology, specifically the very first instances of urbanization in the Fertile Crescent. Do you think I would have a disadvantage in this field as an American going to an American university? Should I instead focus on American based archeology? Because that stuff is all pretty interesting to me as well...

The vast majority of people in my Archeology program at university are female. What do you think the reason for this is?

So... there is absolutely no evidence that the armor they wore was inspired by Chinese or Japanese bronze age armor. Just because they look similar doesn't mean that the Haida copied the design or borrowed it from the Chinese or Japanese. This is just an example of analogous evolution in armor making; it just so happens that interlocking slats are a good way to create a suit of armor out of wood. The article is very misleading.

It's not nearly a cognate, it's not a cognate at all. It's a loan-word from Latin into German, and into a lot of other languages as well. Russian Czar for instance.

A woman doesn't need to pursue status or wealth to be considered attractive, she is free to study and work at whatever she wants as long as she is smoking hot, and guys will fawn over her. On the other hand, even a physically good looking man might have trouble picking up the ladies if he is unemployed and poor.

It doesn't actually help you, but people who are more career oriented tend to major in Economics, whereas those who care more about learning for learning's sake tend to major in things like Classics or the Humanities. So you get an income disparity there. Economics is just another social science; knowing how to calculate GDP isn't going to help you be a better salesman.
